Lacking the financial resources to purchase expensive prosthetic arms, she ingeniously fashioned her own from components of refrigerators and stereo systems, simultaneously teaching herself the skills of drawing and painting with her creations.

    Prior to the incident, Mary Vincent shared with the Ventura County Star, I was unable to draw a straight line. Even with a ruler, I would make mistakes. This talent emerged after the attack, and my artistic endeavors have inspired me and bolstered my self-esteem.

A person with a penchant for tinkering, she has creatively repurposed components from discarded electronics to enhance her prosthetics with personalized modifications.
