Out of the Shadow of Silence follows the tumultuous journey of a woman thirsting for love against a backdrop of adversity. In this epic rescue mission, God's love challenges the power of abusive behaviors and self-destruction mechanisms. We watch attentively as God's tender mercies meet each desperation with an abundance of peace. We discover the scope of His love and patience, remaining steadfast until every wound is healed and all darkness has been displaced by light.
Perhaps you may wonder why I have chosen to write this intro in the third person. Please allow me to explain. My name is Pastor Marilyn Marrero, and this is my story. Despite the fact that I am narrating this true account of my life, the woman you are about to meet is no longer in existence. Even as I write most of the pages of this book, she is unrecognizable to me, nothing more than a distant memory.
My deepest hope and prayer is that the same love that rescued me from Out of the Shadows of Silence would bring you into the marvelous light, where old things are made new, and you too can realize the beauty and freedom found in your God-given identity.
