רוני צימר דוקטורי היא אדריכלית שמתמחה בתכנון ויצירה של מרחבי למידה. היא מנהלת את השלוחה הישראלית שלסטודיו עולמי העוסק בתחום עיצוב מרחבי חינוך בניהולו של מומחה בעל שם עולמי אדריכל פרקש נאיר. רוני מתייחסת למרחב הבנוי כפלטפורמה למימוש הרעיונות הפדגוגיים או כמו שהיא אומרת המרחב עצמו מלמד. תכנון מרחבי הלמידה צריך לאפשר לפועלים בתחומו את מירב האפשרויות למצות את השאיפות הפדגגיות שלהם אם הם לקוחות של המערכת תלמידים וכמובן שאם הם חלק מהמערכת מורים ולכן תכנון המרחב חייו להתבצע בשיתוף מלא עם אנשי החינוך והתלמידים ולהיבחן לאורך זמן, כלומר הרבה לאחר שהתלמיד הראשון נכנס לבניין. בפרק רוני מסבירה כיצד יש לתכנן מבני חינוך, מה האתגרים שניצבים בפני מי שרוצה ליצור מרחב למידה איכותי ולבסוף מהם הכלים שעומדים לרשותינו כדי לצלוח את המשימה בדיוק.

I had the pleasure of hosting someone I've wanted to speak with for quite some time – Professor Kerstin Sailer.

Kerstin is a Professor in the Sociology of Architecture at the Space Syntax Laboratory at UCL's Bartlett School of Architecture. Her work bridges sociology and architecture, focusing on how spatial configurations influence social behaviour within buildings. She specialises in Space Syntax, a methodology that analyses spatial networks to understand human movement, co-presence, and encounters with the built environment.

What I find particularly inspiring about Kerstin is her ability to connect theoretical frameworks with practical applications. Her research sheds light on how the design of spaces—be it offices, hospitals, or schools—can shape social dynamics, human interaction, and organisational structures.

In our conversation, we explore how space and society constantly influence each other, and what that means for how we plan and design the environments around us.
