021 I Am Not Stupid with Karis Gill

  • サマリー

  • In this episode Karis talks about being unheard in many ways. From her teacher calling her “stupid” when she was young and the sexism she faces in her business constantly.  She also talks about how her dyslexia diagnosis saved her and gave the the confidence to start her seven figure business at the age of 25!   “Men would be classically asked: “How can you excel the growth of your company?” And women are asked, “How can you minimise the risk?” And although I can't say I've ever experienced that, I have been on a panel session in front of a big crowd of people, and there were men on the panel and me and the men, it was really intellectual questions and they all, they all ran social enterprises.   Mine was actually bigger than theirs, but they all run social enterprises and really intellectual question about social enterprise, really intellectual question about social enterprise, “Aw, we have Karis.  Karis please tell us your lovely story about you're cute little social enterprise.”  I was really embarrassed.   I was really humiliated and what I wish I would've done. What I didn't do is answer that question and then go back and answer the other two that we are given.”     ABOUT THE GUEST - KARIS GILL   Karis is the co-founder and director of award-winning social enterprise Social Stories Club, a gifting company making an impact.
