197. Hometown Halloween (Golden Bachelorette S1 E5-6)

  • サマリー

  • Happy Hawktuber 31st!!! It's time once again for our annual Halloween episode - this time, we're covering two horrifying episodes Drac-to-Drac, because is there anything scarier than trying to summarise and discuss two feature-length episodes of TV in one go?? Oh yeah - spiders. They're scary as hell.

A dock is an enclosed area for loading and unloading ships. It extends along the shoreline. This one can sometimes also be used to encompass the other four, though.

A wharf runs parallel to shore, not out into the water, and is built on piles, which are basically long pillars driven into the ground. They often are placed where the soil is too loose to build directly.

A pier is like a wharf, but extends out into the water. These are pretty common for boat ramps and public parks and such.

A quay is similar to a wharf, running along the shoreline, but is built on fill, which is literally filling material. In other words, it rests directly on the ground, which is filled in around it.

Finally, a jetty is a pier that is built on fill. It runs out into the water, but there's no space underneath it. It rests on filled earth.
