  • Bible Talk with Sister Deb: Taming the Untamable: The Power of Our Words
    2025/06/06

    Send us a text

Have you ever considered the immense power contained in your everyday words? Sister Deb Osborne tackles the challenging subject of taming our tongues in this thought-provoking episode that will transform how you view your daily conversations.

Drawing from James 3, Sister Deb reveals the paradox that humans have successfully tamed ferocious lions, bears, and elephants, yet struggle mightily with controlling our "two-inch slab of trouble" – our tongues. With vivid imagery and scriptural wisdom, she illustrates how our words can function as weapons of mass destruction or tools for healing and encouragement.

What makes this episode particularly compelling is Sister Deb's raw vulnerability. She courageously shares her own "hamburger meltdown" story – a moment when she spoke harshly to a restaurant owner over a disappointing meal, followed by her persistent efforts to make amends after feeling convicted. This authentic glimpse into her personal struggle reminds us that taming the tongue is an ongoing journey for every believer.

The practical wisdom offered is immediately applicable: before speaking, ask yourself if what you're about to say is true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, and kind. Sister Deb emphasizes that transforming our speech begins with transforming our hearts, as Jesus taught that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." Through Christ's strength, we can experience the heart change needed to speak words that build up rather than tear down.

Whether you struggle with gossip, reactionary outbursts, or simply using words carelessly, this episode offers biblical guidance for bringing your speech under the lordship of Christ. Join Sister Deb in discovering how our words can reflect the light of Christ to everyone around us. Listen now and begin transforming your conversations today!

  • Bible Talk with sister Deb. Ready or Not: Preparing for Christ's Imminent Return
    2025/06/02

    Send us a text

The second coming of Jesus Christ is imminent, with signs all around us indicating we're closer than ever before to His return.

    • Jesus repeats "I come quickly" three times in Revelation 22, emphasizing the urgency of His return
    • Three witnesses confirm this message: God's angel, John, and Jesus Christ himself
    • Christ's return means joy for believers but judgment for those who don't know Him
    • The "twinkling of an eye" means His return will happen faster than our quickest reflex
    • Christians should live with expectancy, not complacency, as they await His return
    • God's perfect track record of fulfilled prophecies guarantees His future promises will also be fulfilled
    • Present-day signs (wars, earthquakes, famines) are just "the beginning of sorrows"
    • The final invitation in Revelation 22:17 offers the water of life freely to all who will come

Today is the day of salvation - not tomorrow, not someday. Open your heart to Jesus before it's too late.

  • CCOG Sunday Service 6-1-25: Are We Falsely Worshipping the True God?
    2025/06/01

    Send us a text

What happens when we show up to church physically but remain spiritually absent? Drawing from the profound wisdom of the minor prophet Amos, this message cuts straight to the heart of modern Christianity's greatest struggle: giving false worship to the true God.

Unlike Elijah who confronted people worshiping Baal, Amos addressed those who maintained religious appearances while their hearts remained far from God. The pastor challenges us to examine whether we're merely going through religious motions – putting on church clothes and showing up – or truly engaging in authentic worship that extends beyond Sunday services. As he powerfully states, "Your worship tails on you," revealing that our lifestyle ultimately exhibits the true nature of our devotion.

The message takes an unexpected turn when addressing the territorial nature of modern Christianity. With refreshing candor, the pastor admits his own struggles with denominational barriers, sharing how God has been transforming his perspective toward neighboring churches. Rather than viewing them as competition, he advocates supporting any ministry that leads people to Christ, declaring, "They might not want me, but they're mine, and you can't stop me loving you." This kingdom-minded approach dismantles artificial divisions between believers who share the fundamental belief in Jesus Christ.

Perhaps most compelling is the revelation that judgment, as delivered through Amos, wasn't meant for destruction but restoration. Using the powerful illustration of a woman trapped under the rubble of the Twin Towers who cried out "I'm here!" when rescuers approached, the pastor reminds us that Jesus walks into our broken situations asking, "Is anybody here?" Our response determines our rescue.

  • CCOG 5-25-25 Loving the Unlovable: A Church Transformed
    2025/05/26

    Send us a text

A transformative message on forgiveness unfolds as Pastor John reflects on a 96-year-old saint's funeral, where people repeatedly remarked that "she preached her own funeral" through her Godly life. This powerful observation becomes the springboard for a deeply personal sermon where Pastor John vulnerably asks the congregation for forgiveness, setting an example of the humility required for genuine spiritual revival.

Drawing from Matthew 5:23-24 and the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18, Pastor John uncovers a fundamental truth often overlooked in religious circles: we cannot expect God's forgiveness while harboring unforgiveness toward others. "How can we expect Jesus to forgive us when we won't forgive our brother or our sister?" he challenges, cutting through religious pretense to expose the heart of authentic Christianity.

The sermon takes on heightened significance against the backdrop of an extraordinary two-week revival where 42 people have knelt at the altar seeking salvation and nearly 60 have been baptized. Many of these new converts come with visible markers of their past—tattoos, track marks, addiction histories—prompting a tearful observation from a church leader that the denomination wouldn't have welcomed such individuals in previous years based on outward appearance.

This revival represents more than just spiritual renewal; it signals a profound cultural shift toward embracing Jesus's example of loving the unlovable. "God is sending people that nobody wants to hug on and love," Pastor John declares, rejecting the isolationist doctrine that Christians should only fellowship with those who resemble themselves. Instead, he casts a vision of heaven filled with diverse souls from all walks of life, challenging the congregation to become "a funnel from the streets" for those seeking redemption.

The service concludes with practical instruction to fast and pray during a two-day break before resuming revival meetings, with the pointed admonition that "if you lose your fire in two days, you never had the fire." For those struggling with unforgiveness, the message is clear: reconcile quickly, for nothing—absolutely nothing—is worth losing your soul.

    2025/05/19

    Send us a text

Our decision to stand firm in faith will determine whether we experience God's deliverance or destruction. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego demonstrates that refusing to bow to cultural pressure invites divine presence into our fiery trials.

    • The enemy attempts to remove essential elements from the church: communion, prayer, altar ministry, and young people
    • King Nebuchadnezzar demanded worship of his golden image when music played, threatening a fiery furnace for dissenters
    • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (teenagers) refused to bow regardless of consequences
    • Their "but if not" faith demonstrated commitment to God whether He delivered them or not
    • The fourth man appeared in the fire, demonstrating God doesn't always bring us out but comes in with us
    • The young men emerged completely unharmed without even smelling like smoke
    • Their refusal to bow and willingness to burn resulted in blessing and promotion
    • Personal testimonies confirm God's deliverance from addiction and destruction
    • Those who worship most passionately are those who have needed God most desperately
    • Young believers must hold onto their faith through teenage years to avoid painful detours

  • Bible Talk with Sister Deb: The Power of God's Word: Your Spiritual Roadmap
    2025/05/17

    Send us a text

Sister Deb Osborne shares the profound importance of the Bible as God's direct, inspired, and unmistakable communication to humanity, emphasizing its unchanging truth and transformative power in our lives.

    • The Bible contains God's precise words - He "didn't mumble" but spoke clearly about matters concerning both Him and us
    • Biblical illiteracy is rampant with 48% of Christians unable to name the four Gospels and 60% unable to recall five of the Ten Commandments
    • Despite being written by people from various backgrounds (shepherds, kings, soldiers, fishermen), the Bible reads as one cohesive book due to divine inspiration
    • Scripture has power to transform lives - "It can tear you to pieces and then put you back together again"
    • The Word of God provides protection against spiritual attacks, as Sister Deb shares from personal experience
    • A warning that a time is coming when owning a Bible will be illegal, making it crucial to internalize Scripture now
    • The Bible serves as our roadmap, providing light, comfort, wisdom, and strength for every situation

Please pick up your Bible, read it, understand it, and believe it while you still can. There will come a time when we'll seek God's Word and won't be able to find it. Put His Word on the tables of your heart now, before it becomes forbidden.

  • CCOG 2025 Ladies Conference with Emily Bowman: Lace Up Your Boots: You're Anointed For This Battle
    2025/05/10

    Send us a text

God's children often feel isolated in their struggles, but we're never truly alone in our battles with the enemy, who strategically attacks when we're vulnerable and weary.

    • The enemy waits until we're weak and vulnerable, disguising himself so his attacks sound like our own thoughts
    • We must recognize that when we feel surrounded by problems, we are actually surrounded by God
    • Jesus overcame every temptation in the wilderness, showing us we can be overcomers through His blood
    • The attacks come because of the anointing within us - it's not about us but about Christ in us
    • As we grow in anointing, we outgrow old battles like an ox outgrows its yoke
    • God doesn't want us fighting new battles with old strategies - seek fresh direction for each challenge
    • David named his victory place "Baal-Perazim" - Lord of the breakthroughs (not just one breakthrough)
    • Some battles require different approaches - David received different instructions each time
    • The enemy can't cross the bloodline when Jesus' blood is applied to your life
    • What you walked in with (weariness, bondage, sickness) is not what you're walking out with

Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
