#641 - Is Duke's experience the key to success?

  • サマリー

  • We are live with Episode 641 as we welcome Scott Rich to the show to help us navigate some interesting topics! Jason is out on vacation, but thankfully Scott is here to take us through some topics with Duke Blue Devils Basketball. First, Duke’s experience has been a topic of conversation all summer long. But how does it rank among Duke teams from previous years? Pretty well, actually! We discuss some of the data and whether it means that Duke will be successful this season. We also learned that Duke has another confirmed game on the non-conference schedule, as Wofford will be coming to town on November 16th. It adds to what is shaping up to be a pretty awesome schedule with some really tough tests for Duke. Scott and Donald are pretty happy with what Jon Scheyer is trying to do in scheduling some of these teams. After the break, we switch to the gridiron, as the ACC preseason poll was released. Duke was picked to finish 11th in the conference, and we discuss whether it is a reasonable place or if Duke should get more love. Also, Kenny Blakeney is hoping to raise some money for the Howard basketball program, and he’s doing it in an outside-the-box way: offering 1/3 of the program for $100 million. We discuss on whether he will be able to do it and what this creative idea would mean for not just the HBCUs, but also mid-major and low-major programs in college sports. We end by congratulating Lindsey Harding and Mistie Bass-Boyd for making moves to new positions in the NBA. Harding will serve as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers under head coach JJ Redick, while Trajan Langdon has hired Bass-Boyd to the front office of the Detroit Pistons. We love that they’re getting opportunities to make their mark in the Association. Make sure you’re following us!
