  • Lazy Skepticism and Intellectual Dishonesty
    2022/04/19
People have presuppositions. When they come across an idea or philosophy that confirms their presuppositions, they endorse it as truth without a critical study of the available data, information or evidence. We have the tendency to quickly believe or accept a thing as truth or fact without engaging objective reasoning to verify. This is what psychologists refer to as motivated reasoning and (or) confirmation bias. This episode seeks to challenge the honest skeptic to test the Christian worldview in its entirety to better understand the faith before making conclusive arguments on flawed premise.

  • Tithing is not the Problem: A Theological Discussion with Rev. Daniel Eshun
    2021/10/13
There have been many debates on the issue of tithing. Believers are divided on the matter; while some denominations prioritise the teaching and preaching of tithing as a doctrine, some also consider it a secondary matter. To some adherents tithing is binding on the Christian, and reference is made to Malachi 3:10, with some material evidence of prosperity presented as proof. To others, tithing is an OT legalistic system which the New Convenant Christian is not obliged to live under. I engage Rev. Daniel Eshun, author of the book "How Did Polygamy Become a Sin" and the acting Dean of the School of Theological Studies at the Dominion University College in a discussion on the topic TITHING IS NOT THE PROBLEM, to probe the purpose of Tithing. • Discussing Jason's Theory of Faith
    2021/08/18

Faith is foundational to a consistent walk with God. However, it seems like many believers struggle in their walk with God simply because we have a certain understanding of faith that promotes laziness and inaction. In this episode, I engage Jason Elliot in a discussion to probe his theory of faith which borrows from various fields to explain faith in a way that would provoke you to growth. Some of his statements are wild and can be easily misinterpreted if the context is overlooked, so do well to send in any question(s) you may have and I would ensure that Mr. Elliot answers them promptly. You can send questions to the WhatsApp number +233242769461.

  • Tithing is Not the Problem, Ep1: Introduction
    2021/06/10
In this season of Beyond Religion, we will explore critical issues related to tithing. Let me highlight them so that you are well informed of what to expect. We will look at Tithing from its historical context both in the Old and New Testament. Then we will probe the original purpose of tithing and trace its applicability in the New Testament. We will then discuss the homiletical, pedagogical, and exegetical approaches adopted by the Church, especially the Pentecostal and Neo-Pentecostal denominations to promote tithing. From there, subsequent episodes will explore some of the practical and researched factors that have affected tithing revenues globally, but the focus will be placed on the African context due to the scope of my listeners. The final episode would recommend some solutions that the Church can innovate according to the context of their tithing situation to remedy the problem.

  • Academia and Ministry Introduction
    2021/05/27
For a long time, after the reformation, academia (Theology to be more specific) has been separated from the ministry activities of the Church. To a certain degree, this divorce has had many adverse impacts on the Church's credibility as a social institution. In this episode of Beyond Religion, we want to probe how Theology as an academic discipline can help the Church fulfil her social functions.
