She began her career in child protection and advocacy before transitioning to philanthropy in 1999.     Jason began his career as an 8th-grade teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where he served as a mentor, coach, and advocate for his students. In 2014, he co-founded Profound Gentlemen, a national nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of male educators of color.
