Welcome to our special edition podcast for LGBT+ History Month, where we celebrate the diversity, and resilience of the LGBT+ community in education.
In this podcast, we will hear from Professor Jonathan Glazzard (Head of the Primary Childhood Department in the Faculty of Education at Edge Hill University), who with his research and practice advocates social inclusion in education and is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and affirming learning environments for all. We will discuss the progress, issues and challenges facing, learners and teachers of the LGBT+ community in education today, the role of leaders and allies, and the need for schools to keep working on social inclusion from the primary and secondary phases right through to FE and university.
Whether you are a member of the LGBT+ community, an ally, an educator, a learner or simply interested in learning more, we invite you to join us for this special edition podcast and help us honour and amplify the voices, and struggles of the LGBT+ community in education.
Thank you for listening.
