Russ catches up with Anthony J Resta, a gifted musician with creativity in abundance. Anthony has worked with a whole host of the worlds best-loved musicians and, as well as being a wonderful drummer, Anthony produces, composes and plays guitar too; a completely modern day musician!

Russ gets a chance to catch up with his longtime friend and mentor the legendary British Jazz drummer, Spike Wells, ahead of his appearance with QOW at the Verdict Jazz club in Brighton.

Russ reflects on his lessons with the great Jim Blackley. Jim was one of the world's greatest drum teachers who had an uncanny ability to get the students head out of the drums and into the music!

Sadly, Phil left us in 2018 after a battle with Alzheimers but his spirit certainly lives on in all the people who he taught; his drumming family.

Luckily, Russ didn't attempt to tell any of Phil's jokes!
