  • Westminster tells Wales to “be grateful”
    2025/06/26

With Robin away who knows where (Wally) this week Mel and Will carry the baton together to look at ANOTHER shafting of Wales courtesy of our pals in London.

Will breaks down how housing in Wales is holding us all back and while deliberate decisions by UK Labour are increasing homelessness in Cymru.

Mel then reaches new levels of outrage as a UK Treasury minister tell Wales to “be grateful” for being shortchanged.

Plus the big question, why are so many Welsh people falling over?

    BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.
For Wales, See Wales will be doing a liveshow in Wrexham on September 6. Get your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/for-wales-see-wales-podlediad-byw-podcast-live-show-tickets-1427224680439

    About FWSW

100 years ago if you had picked up the Encyclopaedia Britannica and looked up “Wales” you would have seen four words - ‘For Wales, see England.’

This implied that Wales was no different to England. Not worthy of its own description. Second fiddle. Frankly, it implied that Wales was simply less of a country.

That is why we have launched our podcast: For Wales, See Wales.

It is a weekly look at Welsh politics looking at the issues that matter to people here.

There are so many people who are passionately Welsh, who care about Wales and want to better understand what is happening here.

The more informed people are on Welsh issues, the more they are able to hold politicians and decision makers to account for the things that affect their lives.

Just as importantly, we want to have a good laugh talking and learning about the country we love.

Plus we have some great merchandise which you can buy here: https://for-wales-see-wales.teemill.com/

  • The system consistently fails Wales
    2025/06/20

This week Robin and Will grieve for Mel who is swifty realising “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime”.

With the pod’s representative farmer due to be back next week, the pair take a look at Mark Drakeford getting angry and Andrew RT Davies totally not saying a word in an odd way.

They then look at how Rachel Reeves has given Wales mutton and told them it’s lamb plus asking why Welsh Labour aren’t doing more to kick up a fuss.

There is also a very special announcement about our next live show (save September 6 in your calendar).

  • What is Reform’s plan for Wales?
    2025/06/12

This week Robin and Mel threaten to kill a listener while we discover that Mel is, in fact, marriage material.

The gang dive into Nigel Farage’s trip to Wales and look at how his party are going all out to target Cymru. This brings us to the big question - who actually wants to go down a mine?

Elsewhere Chancellor Rachel Reeves reboots to give Wales some cash, but is it enough?

  • Do UK Labour care about Wales?
    2025/06/05

This week Will enters a rage spiral, Mel reveals her musical gifts and Robin explains how he never planned to be a comedian.

Wales has been shafted on rail again while the Treasury ignores Mark Drakeford’s pleas for Cymru to be treated the same as England.

The gang discuss how the arts could be used to transform Wales and Mel drops the truth bomb that Will is clearly a trumpet boy.

For Wales, See Wales is a podcast all about Welsh politics and issues. It’s for everyone from political nerds to people who have never really paid attention.

  • Hilariously chaotic Tory conference
    2025/05/29

In this week’s episode, Will spills the tea on everything that went down at the Welsh Conservatives party conference in Llangollen. From Kemi Badenoch’s MSP gaff, to serious typos, Darren Millar's olive branch and Jacob Rees-Mogg’s commitment to his wife’s necessities, there is a lot for Robin, Mel and Will to unpack!

    2025/05/22

This week the gang host Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth who is the frontrunner to be the next Wales First Minister.

He comes bearing gifts as well as explaining where he would want to put the Welsh capital…

In a fascinating and wide ranging interview Will and the Plaid leader get into a debate over what currency an independent Wales would have. Rhun ap Iorwerth also reveals that he used to be in a band with “perfectly innocent” name.

    Plus milkshakes, corn and pineapple…

    2025/05/15

The gang come together on Will’s birthday to mock him mercilessly.

They explore who is on course to win the most seats in the Senedd election and answer the fairly important question of how the voting actually works?

Also on the agenda is Eluned Morgan’s Gavin and Stacey reference as well as planning a live event from Ninja Warrior. Get Mark Drakeford on monkey bars!

  • Bombshell poll drops in Welsh politics
    2025/05/08

This week the pod heads out on the road. Setting up camp inside the Senedd/Welsh Parliament the gang invite any politician to come one and chew the fat.

The very morning that we arrived a gobsmacking poll was released that put Plaid top, with Reform just behind and Labour on just 18%. First Minister Eluned Morgan had also given a speech where she (sorta) reestablished the clear red water between herself and Keir Starmer.

This pod is a bit different to usual. Guests were dropping in left and right.

Labour’s Lee Waters reminded Will of their, err, interesting history. Llyr Gruffydd says Plaid Cymru are simply more fun than Labour and Tory Tom Giffard explains his vision for a M4 without queues.

Big thanks to the Senedd Commission for letting us in. The public is able to visit the Senedd so get on down there and nosy around!
