Kimberly Parker began her law enforcement career with Euless PD in 1993, serving in patrol, bicycle operations, narcotics, and the Family Crimes Unit before earning the rank of Senior Corporal. After retiring, her mission didn’t end—she shifted her focus to supporting those who serve. In 2021, Kimberly co-founded Forged in Valor, a private therapy practice dedicated to military personnel, first responders, and their families. Today, she’s a trusted mental health resource for members of GPPD, helping officers maintain resilience both on and off the job. In this episode, Kimberly shares her story, the importance of mental wellness in public service, and what it means to serve beyond the badge.

Robert grew up in Beaumont, Texas. Sports were always in his blood as his father played for over a decade in the NFL. Despite having a true love for basketball, Robert went to Texas Christian University (TCU), where he played football. After college, he played for two teams in the NFL over three years. After a catastrophic knee injury, he realized that his professional playing days were behind him.

Being a Grand Prairie resident at that time, he applied for GPPD, and the rest is history! He has been with the PD for 15 years now. Robert worked patrol for over five years and then transferred to become a School Resource Officer (SRO). He has been serving in that capacity at the various GPISD schools for around 10 years now.

Robert is a proud husband and father who enjoys playing basketball for stress relief.

This week we check in with Joe. He was one of our original podcast episodes a few years back.

Joe is currently a K9 SRO officer. On top of giving an update on his house pig adventures, he talks about his new career and family adventure! He is going to be leaving law enforcement in a few weeks to pursue a new adventure in running a family farm. This farm has been in his family for years and he is going to keep the tradition alive in New Mexico!

(Retired) Sergeant Alan Patton grew up in Grand Prairie. He went to SGPHS where he played numerous sports. After school, he joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) where he served in Vietnam. After his two stints in the military, he joined GPPD in August 1980. He worked patrol and then became a detective. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1998 and became the Major Crimes Supervisor where he supervised the investigations of assaults, homicides, and other person-related crimes.

He went to Internal Affairs (IA) in 2008 and later retired in August 2012. Since retiring after 32 years in Law Enforcement, he has stayed busy and often dabbles in police work as a consultant, doing criminal case studies, and helping with investigations.

He shares some interesting stories of his time and speaks of his near-death experiences as an officer which sent him to the hospital for many days.

Chris grew up with a servant's heart in Missouri. His family moved to Texas in 1979 due to his dad being in the military. He sent himself through the police academy and got hired as a police officer in Azle where he worked for about 5 1/2 years. He heard about GPPD and the rest is history!

He joined GPPD back in 2002. He has worked patrol, been a Field Training Officer (FTO), was a member of the Honor Guard, and is currently serving in the Traffic Division as a motor officer.

Chris speaks of his time as an officer, his passion for motorcycles, and his faith. He also talks about the blessings given to him and his family (spouse) during a time of great need.

Fun fact, halfway through the recording the fire alarms went off so we had to pause....and then re-record weeks later. Can you spot the changes?

This week we sit down with Clint aka Bo. After getting his degree from Baylor University, he came to GPPD to pursue a career in law enforcement. He has been an officer now with us since 2016.

He worked patrol for many years where he was a Field Training Officer (FTO) and also on the Honor Guard. He is currently assigned to the Crisis Support Unit where he works daily doing follow-ups with a mental health clinician in the field.

Cord decided to be a police officer after taking some criminal justice courses in college. After school, he worked for another local DFW police agency for a good number of years as an officer. He left there as a motor officer.

Cord knew about GP and came for higher pay and better opportunities. He got hired by GPPD in 2020. He worked patrol for a bit here and then transferred to the motor unit in mid 2023, where he still serves today.

Cord is a proud father of two boys.
