  • HP Cult | Episode 15 | Josh Mazerolle - Vague Industries, Deathwish, Fabricator, Off-road Builder, and Designer
    2025/05/28

Our guest is none other than Josh Mazerolle—the mastermind behind Deathwish, the Amazon Prime series that takes sketchy builds on even sketchier adventures. As the founder of Vague Industries, Josh has turned wrenching into an art form, crafting machines that defy convention and expectations.

From the twin-turbo LS-swapped Toyota Hilux tearing up the tarmac to off-road escapades in barely street-legal vehicles , Josh embodies the spirit of innovation and rebellion. He’s not just a fabricator; he’s an entrepreneur, a storyteller, and yes, a cowboy hat-wearing car guy who’s as comfortable in the garage as he is on the open road.

So buckle up and get ready for a ride through the mind of a man who lives life in the fast lane, with no plans of hitting the brakes.

Welcome back to the HP Cult Podcast, where horsepower meets hustle and legends are built one gear at a time.

Today’s guest is a true outlaw in the world of stick shift drag racing—a man who doesn’t just drive fast, he redefines fast. His LS-powered Honda S2000 holds the title of the world’s fastest H-pattern stick shift S2000, clocking an astonishing 7.58 seconds at 190 mph.

  • HP Cult | TechniCult Knowledge | Gen III LS History and Info
    2025/03/26

Welcome to the very first episode of the HPCult.com TechniCult Knowledge Series!

This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time—even before the idea of podcast interviews. In this series, I’ll be drawing from my book research and turning that information into an accessible video format. While some of this knowledge is widely known among seasoned enthusiasts, new people are diving into this world every day, eager to learn.

In this episode, we’re kicking things off with a deep dive into Gen III engines—starting from the debut of the LS1 and covering the transition years leading into Gen IV. We’ll save the Gen IV discussion for the next episode. While we won’t be covering every single detail, by the end of this episode, you’ll have a solid understanding of what these engines are and which vehicles they came in.

Alongside my book publications, there are some great online resources, like the OnAllCylinders.com blog, which goes in-depth on many engine-specific intricacies.

In future episodes, we’ll be covering everything from engine blocks and machining to internals, valvetrain components, and even full assembly. I hope you find this series helpful! If you have any questions or topics you’d like me to cover, drop a comment below. Let’s get started!

Thank you for tuning in to the High Performance Cult Podcast! A huge thanks to our guests for welcoming us into their world and sharing their insights. I also want to express my gratitude to my colleagues who help make this show possible.
