Hey—I’ve got an update on a new season of History Reinvented.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to figure out what area of Richmond, Virginia I can take another dive into the history and future of.

Well, I’ve landed on one–but I don’t want to say what it is yet, until I get some recordings and interviews done.

That said, I’m dropping this little teaser to keep you all updated and interested in the podcast and to ask you to please continue sharing episodes on all your social media platforms. Plus, rate it and leave some comments–they all help.

And, if you’d like to sponsor my work, then please let me know. You can also Venmo me a few dollars at Ian-Stewart-82 to buy me some coffee or gas. Or you can become a subscriber too.

Be sure to check out my other podcast, called The Mechanics of Transportation in which I talk to local Richmond and national experts about all things transportation. And, if you like music, check out Ian’s World O’ Music show on Mixcloud. For 17 years, I had a world music show on a local public radio station.

Plus, you can always look for my freelance work on outlets like Virginia Mercury, The Richmonder, Richmond Magazine and on the podcast Full Disclosure with Roben Farzad.

I want to start this off — this wrap up – about producing this two part series on the historic Mayo Bridge and Island in Richmond, Va by thanking all 1000-plus listeners, downloaders since I published the first episode last December.

It came after a time that I was let go from my job at a public radio station, where I was a transportation reporter, a general assignment reporter, a fill in anchor and the host of a long running music show.

    So give this a listen.

    ------------------

But even though the podcast is done, I could surely use some help from you. You can Venmo me a few dollars at Ian-Stewart-82 to buy me some coffee or gas. And more importantly, you can also keep supporting the show by rating it and sharing it around your socials because soon, I’m going to have to stop paying for keeping the uploads on buzzsprout—the place I use to post and house older episodes.

And If you’re a sponsor who may be interested in helping me produce other episodes on the History and Future of Richmond, then please do reach out. I’d love to tell more stories like these. And I may dive into something else that’s interesting an needs attention–you can also give me some ideas too.

Be sure to check out my other podcast, called The Mechanics of Transportation in which I talk to local Richmond and national experts about all things transportation. And, if you like music, check out Ian’s World O’ Music show on Mixcloud. For 17 years, I had a world music show on a local public radio station, where I also happened to report on transportation topics.

Plus, you can always look for my freelance work on outlets like Virginia Mercury, The Richmonder, Richmond Magazine and on the podcast Full Disclosure with Roben Farzad–where recently, I guest hosted an interview with 80s music icon Thomas Dolby.

History Reinvented is a Big Soap Production. Thanks for tagging along.

In this episode, I hangout with Richard Hankins, Executive Director of Partnership for Smarter Growth, who are invested in making sure the updated Mayo Bridge is equitable for everyone–not just cars, but bicyclists, pedestrians, people who fish, and buses — and they want to help make sure there’s access to what will be a new and improved Mayo Island.

History Reinvented is a two part podcast series that takes you on a trip around the Mayo Bridge and Mayo Island in Richmond Virginia, from its early beginnings to what the future holds for this historic part of the city’s Landscape.

As a freelance reporter, I could surely use some help with you subscribing and supporting this podcast. If you can’t subscribe, you can rate it and share it around your socials because the more the word gets out the better it helps me keep going. Heck, you could even Venmo me a few dollars at Ian-Stewart-82 to buy me some coffee.
