Ernest talks about his father’s connection and friendship with Labor leader Cesar Chavez, and shares a clip of rarely seen video footage of Chavez’s 1979 visit to San Antonio.

  • A mayoral runoff election on June 7 – what to expect

    This week On The Record with Randy Beamer, UTSA Political Science Department Chair Prof. Jon Taylor discusses the Mayoral runoff. He explains why low voter turnout is expected, why the candidates have a learning curve for the office, and his concerns about their lack of municipal experience.

    Next, Annalisa Peace, representing the group “Citizens Against Project Marvel”, discusses that group’s concern over SAWS approving a $1M feasibility study to look at the cost to move their downtown water chiller location, even though the Project Marvel plan has not been fully revealed.
