The Dodgers were off on Thursday but one player did play that will make a mark on the team soon. Walker Buehler made his final rehab start and allowed just one run while pitching into the 6th inning. What can we expect from Buehler this time around? Shohei Ohtani is slumping a bit but there's not too much concern yet. Will Smith has been slumping for a while and there's a little more concern there. Lastly, Tommy Edman was working out in center field. Is that the best place for him to play when he returns?

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the game and the series to the Phillies on Wednesday night. The big blows for Philadelphia all came from Kyle Schwarber, who drove in seven runs with three homers and a double. The other big blow came from third-base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt, who egregiously blew a call at third base, then petulantly ejected LA manager Dave Roberts for having the nerve to call him on it. On the pitching side, Joe Kelly did a very good demonstration of why a lot of fans are nervous about the idea of him being on the postseason roster. Later, Nick Castellanos showed that he has very little feel for the game of baseball or understanding of how pitching works when he thought Michael Grove threw at him. And finally, there was more good news on the subject of injured players and when they might be back.

Dodgers lead 4-1 on 3 rbi from Freddie Freeman but the Phillies kept scratching out runs and Kyle Schwarber kept hitting home runs propelling them to a 9-4 win. Gavin Stone was ok only surviving 4 2/3 giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, Joe Kelly had a tough night walking 2 with a wild pitch giving up 3 runs on just 1 hit...a Kyle Schwarber home run. The Dodger now lead the Padres and the Dbacks in the west by just 3 games.
