Jase Richardson did not put up gaudy numbers in his Summer League debut, but he still stood out, making an impact in several facets. It was a good showing for him to build on as he showed his competitiveness and fire.

He was not alone as Tristan da Silva and Noah Penda also had good showings to open Summer League. The Magic have something to build on, even in defeat.

The Orlando Magic got their NBA Cup group, paired with the Boston Celtics and their newest rival, the Detroit Pistons. Paolo Banchero signed a max contract extension signals a new era for the Orlando Magic as they set their sights on winning a title.

The rest of the league is still spending some time debating Banchero's worthiness of this max deal. At least those who are on the outside are still wondering if Banchero is at that level.
