They definitely got goalie's by Quick on Saturday but the real problem was the lack of finishing and the penalty kill continuing to kill them. Detroit needed to come into the United Center and take care of business against an inferior opponent and they did, beating the Blackhawks. It was a slow start to the game, but Detroit struck first thanks to a DeBrincat goal late in the 1st. After that Larkin, Veleno and Copp netted goals to help carry the Red Wings to a 4-1 victory. The Detroit Red Wings won their rematch against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, in a fairly even back and forth game at even strength. The difference ended up being on special teams, where Dylan Larkin score both the Red Wings goals, giving him 7 on the season. The Winnipeg Jets are the best team in hockey and they looked like it on Thursday, beating the Red Wings 6-2. Detroit played fairly even at 5v5 but simple mistakes ended up costing them on each and every goal. Alex Lyon also had his first rough game in a while, letting in several softies from the point.
