Syracuse Orange Football is expected to let-go of special teams coach James Vollono, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Fran Brown's Syracuse team enjoyed tremendous success in 2024, but the special teams did not. Vollono's unit was statistically one of the worst in the ACC and the special teams had repeated blunders throughout the season. Overall, Fran Brown is not resting on his laurels.

Syracuse Orange Football's offensive line has been directly impact by Diego Pavia's court ruling, granting an extra year of NCAA eligibility to players who started at JUCO programs. Fran Brown's starting center, J'Onre Reed, announced after the Holiday Bowl that he's returning to college. The Orange's starting guards, Jakob Bradford and Mark Petry, could also potentially be granted an extra year of eligibility. If would be outstanding if Cuse can retain all of Reed, Bradford, and Petry. Syracuse's offensive line only allowed Kyle McCord to be sacked 4% of the time, and LeQuint Allen averaged 4.5 yards-per-carry.

Syracuse Orange Basketball defeated the Bucknell Bison 75-63 inside the JMA Wireless Dome. Eddie Lampkin and Donnie Freeman each had double-doubles for Adrian Autry's squad. Lucas Taylor and Kyle Cuffe provided a spark in the first and second halves respectively. Jaquan Carlos nearly had a double-double with 11 points and 9 assists. Syracuse now faces the ACC for the rest of the season, barring postseason basketball (i.e. NCAA Tournament or NIT Tournament).

Syracuse Orange Football dominated the Washington State Cougars 52-35 in the 2024 Holiday Bowl to reach 10 wins in a season. Kyle McCord set the ACC single season passing yards record on a 50 yard throw to Darrell Gill in the third quarter. Fran Brown perfectly executed a two minute drill. Oronde Gadsden, Trebor Pena, and LeQuint Allen all had two touchdowns. Jackson Meeks went over 100 yards to reach 1,000 for the season after transferring from the Georgia Bulldogs. Alijah Clark and Jalil Martin each had an interception for the Cuse.

Syracuse Orange Football quarterback Kyle McCord is expected to start the Holiday Bowl against Washington State. McCord should play the majority of the bowl game, but if the game were to get out of hand, Syracuse Head Coach Fran should consider making a quarterback change. Jakhari Williams is a 2024 three-star recruit that could certainly see game action.

Syracuse Orange Football recently added former South Carolina Gamecocks wide receiver Tyshawn Russell in the transfer portal. Russell is Fran Brown's second add at receiver in the portal along with Chris Long Jr. from Rutgers. Both Russell and Long profile to be depth pieces for Syracuse next season, but Russell does have three years of college eligibility to grow. The Orange still have more pressing needs at offensive line, cornerback, and inside linebacker.

Syracuse Orange Football quarterback Kyle McCord is appealing to the NCAA for another year of college eligibility, according to Syracuse.com's Chris Carlson. Fran Brown's squad also seeks its 10th win of 2024 against Washington State in the Holiday Bowl on Friday. Syracuse Orange Basketball also hopes to get JJ Starling back soon, which will hopefully prevent blowouts. Adrian Autry's squad will hopefully make the ACC Tournament.
