Jason Lent was born into a family of performers. His dad was a musician who played with bands such as Dion and the Belmonts but joined the marines and served in the Vietnam war.

His first gig was Madonna, and they paid a princely sum of $20. Aged 4 he moved with his family to south Florida. He studied in Colorado and at the conclusion of his education he got a job at Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory in Hawaii. Whilst there he was offered a job with Jimmy Buffett at his restaurant Margaritaville. During his time there he met a young kid who would do Elvis impersonations. That child was Bruno Marrs!

Jason's first restaurant job was Hooters and he is now at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas where he has worked for 15 years. Jason has worked with the Cowboy Junkies, he wrote the tour diary and took the gig pictures.

The Seminole tribe of Florida now own the Hard Rock Café. Eric Clapton was the first person to donate a guitar to the company quickly followed by Pete Townsend of The Who. Jason's favourite guitar is the one owned by Marc Bolan.

Jason grew up watching MTV and his favourite groups are English. Duran Duran, Human League, Thompson Twins, Adam Ant. Hard Rock Café now have a resident band which have a consortium of musicians.

Jason is now a DJ and has shared a spot with members of Duran Duran and was the DJ at the famous Billy Idol fan party gig on the Hoover Dam. He attended the initial stages of the gig and went on to DJ at the after party

Jason is now a resident DJ for Swingers in Las Vegas. Euphonic Alive managed the DJs and work from Somerset House Arsenal fan Dan Savage auditioned Jason and he was given the job. His most stressful gig was for the owners of swingers when they opened the venue. He also DJ’s at Brew Dog every week

We discuss the bands Blur and The Prodigy and his love of Pulp.

Jason would like to travel more. He has DJ`d in New York for Duran Duran and in Atlanta for the Cure fan parties. Jason is an avid West Ham fan and watches all of the games and has hosted Chesney Hawkes. Growing up on the Smiths and the Cure so he’s used to sad and depression which fits in well with being a West Ham fan!

Grainne Humphreys had a granny who was an advocate of television and film and encouraged her granddaughter to watch classic films. She was obsessed with crime and courtroom dramas

Grainne wanted to be a film critic and got a scholarship to study in Manchester but went to UCD to study art. She joined a film society where she met her tribe. She has been working in film since 1994.

Working in a venue she loved the connection to an audience.

Irish cinema history was dominated by the UK and USA productions, but it is now a more organic industry. The opening scene of Saving Private Ryan and Brave Heart were filmed in Ireland continuing to raise the bar.

The A list actors in Ireland is huge but they maintain their connection with Ireland and the communities that they represent.

Grainne’s left collage with a master’s in film study but her real journey commenced by volunteering at festivals and applying for jobs across the sector her first role was a children’s film festival. Her continued work guided her along a path and she and then joined the Irish Film Institute. In 2008 Grainne joined Dublin International Film Festival.

The festival is a cultural and community event and In 2025 the festival will show over 85 productions Including the brilliant “Mind Your Head”. Mind Your Head is a documentary about traveller mental health and feature James Quinn McDonah, John Connors and John Fury and it covers mental health in the traveller community and the fact that you are 7 times more likely to die by suicide than other sections of society.

Joy was born in Washington DC in 1952 and raised by her aunt and uncle. The couple owned a restaurant in DC, where Joy had the chance to encounter distinguished individuals who left a lasting impression on her. This exposure to various personalities set the stage for her future adventures.

At 16, Joy opted to pursue her education in Germany. While out with her guardian and their two daughters, a man approached the family, inquiring if the girls were interested in modelling. The father declined, and his daughters agreed. Surprisingly, the man was referring to Joy Jewett, the tall redhead with striking grey eyes. Initially shocked by the proposal, she eventually embraced the opportunity, leading her to stride on the runways of Milan, Paris, and New York, representing iconic fashion houses like Lagerfeld, Chanel, and Vivienne Westwood.

Joy concluded her modelling career at 25, feeling she had outgrown it, and transitioned into banking, where she thrived. After her husband's untimely passing, she embarked on a soul-searching journey. In August 2023, a chance encounter in Rome with a former fashion industry colleague inspired her to make a comeback. Back in the USA, she secured an agent in New York, and in September 2023, at the age of 70, Joy returned to the catwalk.

Now residing in London, Joy has worked with designers like Manuel Tiscareño and appeared in Indian Vogue. She admires Kate Moss for her genuine nature and considers Meryl Streep and Kathryn Hepburn her favourite actresses.

In the 70s, Halston gifted Joy a dress she had modelled, which survived a devastating fire at her home 20 years ago. Joy's introduction to Luvvies a life in entertainment podcasts came through Kelly Glyptis during an encounter with Manuel Tiscareño and Grammy Award-winner Zachary James, who stars in Hadestown.

Kelly was born into the world of entertainment. Her mother was a dancer who travelled the world to perform. Having moved to the DC area she took over a children’s company and Kelly became the stage child . she witnessed performances and would often be used as the subject during rehearsals.

The reality of being a performer was never hidden from Kelly, and whilst there are good times there are also a significant number of low times. Work is not guaranteed.

Kelly sings musical theatre and opera and recently concluded a 2 year stint playing Carlota in Andrew Lloyd Webbers Phantom of The Opera!

Kelly exposes the fact that the world of Opera has some issues. As an example “Pay To Sing” is a program where the performer will pay to be in the cast of a production! On one occasion she was asked to take part by the company and when she agreed they told her it would cost her $5000. She also explains that performers have to pay to audition!

Manassas Virginia is Kelly's home in the USA. Aged 8 Kelly was able to join the choir at 16 she performed in an opera in Italy . She recalls the conductor ranting at her in Italian because she upstaged the leads.

Kelly's audition for phantom was extended and her final audition was in front of impresario Cameron Mackintosh.

During this interview she expressed a desire to play Nancy in Oliver. We discuss the regime to protect her voice.

David Eilenberg is the head of content for ROKU. He is the son of a professor of theatre and spent his youth standing in the wings of theatres watching a number of productions including vaudeville which moulded his views around entertainment. He states that when he informed his parents, he was going into TV that said “At least you are going into something stable”

David studied history and literature and went on to study screen writing. He found a way into the unscripted world at its inception. There is a direct correlation between reality TV and game shows.

As well as streaming the company produce originals including the Great American Baking Show features Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. This is filmed in the United Kingdom with American contestants. Roku are looking to scale business to 100m users in the USA, they hope to achieve success with their venture into the sports production. As an example Roku will be hosting a number of sporting events including X Games and are continually seeking the next big thing!

David states that Mark Burnett –is a role model Mark was instrumental in the Eco Challenge and Survivor production.

Barry was born in Birmingham in the 1960s. He was always a fan of the television and recalls the time that there were only 2 channels! The Impact of Television on Family Life was enormous and Barry's love was compounded when he went to the filming of Tiswas. Tiswas featured Chris Tarrant, Lenny Henry, Sally James and Bob Carolgees with his dog spit!

Aged just 14 Barry wrote in to the production company of Look Hear. This production was hosted by a young Toyah Wilcox and the show fell below the standard expected by Barry and he was happy to share hi views. This resulted in him becoming a stringer for the show.

He worked on publications such as Blitz, NME and The Face. He was also part of the production team for the ground breaking Tube and saw the explosion of some of the most influential band in popular history. Working alongside Muriel Gray he watched bands such as Simple Minds and Big Country become household names. Lesser know bands Swans way got significant exposure on national television.

He was an integral part of the Janice Long show at BBC Merseyside where he would find up and coming bands to feature.

Reminiscing over a bygone entertainment time Barry discusses the late great John Peel and his fabulous festive 50 with producer John Walters.

Barry was accepted to a role at the BBC where he became a producer and his first BBC Job was 999 from BBC Bristol.

Barry moved roles and remember the day he booked Metallica and to everyone's amazement hey swore This wouldn't have been so bad had it not been a children's audience!

The formation of Free at Last enhanced Barry's ability to identify talent and produce his own shows. He has formed a brilliant working relationship with Martina Cole and her show lady Killers is still being shown across the world.

Free at last are also behind the award winning Agatha Raison and have a number of fabulous productions in the pipeline with brilliant writers such as author Ian Moore.
