  • The Beauty of Bible Restoration
    2024/10/23
Leonard's Book Restoration is a book and Bible rebinding business, repair and restoration. Eric J. Haley's bookbinding beginnings were humble, when he used his experience in antique books to bravely attempt to restore his wife’s treasured copy of The Prince and the Pauper, rescued from a relative’s damp basement and covered with contact paper. From there, with much practice, he became an experienced bookbinder, with over 30 years of experience in bookbinding, restoration, and book repair, including commissioned work for museums and rare collections libraries. Now he has passed on his trade secrets to a new generation of skilled craftsmen, who use TLC to reassemble and restore your treasured and priceless possessions and give them a glowing finished look. Our business is a team effort and to many of us, it’s also a ministry. Eric is a pastor, and at Leonard’s, we love the Bible: it is the written Word of God. The message of the Bible is timeless, but the cover of your Bible is not. If your Bible needs a resurrection, visit our Bible Rebinding page to find out more about what we can do for it. From small hand-held Bibles to large old Family Bibles, we can help. Our many satisfied customer would tell you you’ve come to the right place. Leonard’s still has that same friendly service Leonard and Eric have always been known for. That we don’t intend to change–it’s a family tradition!

  • The Greatest Micro Artist in the World
    2024/10/05
Dr. Willard Wigan's work has been described as the eighth wonder of the modern world. Often mounted within the eyes of the smallest threading needles or on the heads of tiny dress pins. His levels of dexterity and concentration required to create what many consider to be impossible by a human hand. He controls his breathing and heart rate, using them as tools to create miniature masterpieces, most of which will fit within the full stop at the end of this sentence. Achieving two Guinness World Records, recognizing him as the greatest micro sculptor in the world today. Creator of the smallest sculptural masterpieces ever made by a human hand. His compelling life journey of adversity to success inspires others to find their own courage and blueprint for positive change. His microscopic art is a message to humanity, Small things matter and the smallest things make the biggest impacts. As a school boy, Willard found both reading and writing did not come naturally to him. At that time Autism, Dyslexia and learning differences were not accepted or recognised. Told by his school teachers that he would amount to nothing, he was used as a warning to others what academic failure looked like. Unable to read or write and with his social and academic confidence broken, Willard ran away from school. Whilst hiding at home from the world that taunted him, he discovered his hidden talent and began a new journey to greatness. Willard would show the world that nothing exists and small things could become everything. Growing up Willard’s mother would often tell him when he presented his work to her “that’s not small enough, try again” Willard made things increasingly smaller to try to please his Mom and prior to her death she told him “the smaller you make things the bigger your name will become.” During his journey so far Willard has received an MBE from the Queen, achieved two Guinness World Records and an Honorary Doctorate from Warwick University. He's been the subject of an award-winning Channel 4 documentary, the guest of international TV, Radio and Talk Shows and his art has been exhibited across the globe, attracting celebrity collectors. He is living proof that learning difference makes no difference and small things really do matter. Visit Dr. Wigan's website at: https://www.willardwiganmbe.com

    2024/09/27
Non-Verbal Learning Disorder (NLD or NVLD) is a learning disability characterized by poor visual, spatial, and organizational skills. As well as incredible difficulty processing nonverbal cues. The name “Non-Verbal Learning Disorder” suggests that those affected have trouble speaking. However, this is not the case with NVLDers usually having above-average intelligence and firm mastery of complex vocabulary and language. But the vast majority of human communication is non-verbal — body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice. Those with NVLD have trouble interpreting this non-verbal language and must rely on words alone to understand what others mean, which can lead to difficulties.Linda Karanzalis shares her own experience as a child, teen, and adult battling undiagnosed NVLD. This book is a frank account of her struggles with academics, jobs, and relationships that sheds light on and will ring true for everyone affected by NVLD. This inspirational book will guide you on recognizing and coping with NVLD and how it differs from its common misdiagnosed disability; Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and or Autism Level One (formerly Aspergers).Linda not only empowers others to achieve their goals but also serves as a role model offering understanding, hope, and inspiration to NVLDers of all ages.Grab Misnamed, Misdiagnosed, Misunderstood today and equip yourself with this new knowledge and apply your understanding to your life to achieve the potential you were always meant to.My passion and life’s mission is to help others not experience the difficulties I went through beginning in childhood. I obtained a master’s degree in brain-based education and am a board certified cognitive specialist. In 1997 I left my special education teaching position and started Addvantages Learning Center. My center was one of the first in the county to exclusively meet the needs of neurodivergent students. Its focus remains to help students reach their potential through executive functioning training, social-emotional skills development, and parent coaching. I’m a contributing writer for ADDitude magazine, was the coordinator of a CHADD (children and adults with ADHD) chapter for many years, a former frequent guest on the radio show “Let’s Talk About It” about learning struggles, and wrote a monthly column called “Ask the ADDvisor” about ADHD for South Jersey Mom magazine. I’m proud to be an advocate/ambassador for the NVLD Project, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those with NVLD. I have participated in their Facebook Live series and written an article for their professional blog. I have been recognized as one of “South Jersey’s Top 35 Superwomen '' by South Jersey Magazine and received a proclamation from Governor Whitman on behalf of the work of my students. • How to Appreciate Wildlife and All God’s Creatures
    2024/05/15
Healer of Angels is a heartwarming collection of true stories of a young boy overcoming life's challenges and disabilities with the guidance of wise grandparents and other mentors. This process leads to a life dedicated to the rescue, healing and release of the wild creatures of the desert southwest. Some of the stories are humorous and some bittersweet, but each will inspire, teaching a lesson as it touches the readers' heart. Join Mr. Tyner as he reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry; from a shy dyslectic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation. Martin Tyner is one of America's foremost wildlife rehabilitators, a master falconer, eagle falconer, and wildlife and environmental educator. He travels throughout the west providing wildlife programs accompanied by his devoted companion, Scout, a wild golden eagle. At age twelve, Martin Tyner started caring for the sick, injured and orphaned creatures in his home town of Simi Valley, CA. At age nineteen, Tyner was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors. Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator. He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over forty years. Martin Tyner provides Birds of Prey and Excursions through Road Scholar. He is included on three of their Utah Adventures: Hiking Bryce and Zion National Parks, National Parks With Your Grandchild: Zion, Bryce & Grand Canyon and Canyons, Cliffs & Rivers: The Geological Wonders of Zion. Since these adventures change on occasion, they recommend calling before scheduling in order to make sure the itinerary is still as listed on their site. He has also taught summer classes at Southern Utah University called The Ancient Art of Falconry and Shakespeare, and performed in the Green Show with his raptors for the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Martin Tyner is the founder of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rescue, wildlife and environmental education organization. With the help of his golden eagle, Bud, they received a donation of 22.6 acres of beautiful, canyon property from Utah Power/Scottish Power for the development of a permanent wildlife rescue facility and a nature park for the children of Utah. In 2005 Martin and Bud were honored by the Utah State Legislature for over a quarter-century of wildlife rescue and wildlife and environmental education in Utah. Martin Tyner is one of America’s foremost wildlife rehabilitators, a master falconer, eagle falconer, and wildlife and environmental educator. In 1976, Martin met the love of his life, Susan, who is an animal lover in her own right. Susan Heaton Tyner began her career working with animals in 1977, as a bather-brusher at the Canine Castle, a local dog grooming shop, in Simi Valley and finished her training at the Pet Oasis, in Lancaster, CA, where she graduated to the position of professional dog groomer. Susan and Martin moved to Cedar City, UT, in the winter of 1979 where they raised two children. In 1982, they opened Tyner’s Pets and Dog Grooming where Martin ran the pet shop and Susan groomed dogs. Susan volunteered as a leader in 4-H, developing the Guide Dog for the Blind puppy program in Southern Utah. Jack Steward is a skilled film maker and content creator with a successful YouTube Channel that brings viewers into nature to experience cabin life. Jack has had a knack for telling stories since he picked up his first VHS camcorder as a kid. Little did he know that the short films he was making were actually crafting his skills as an editor and producer. Jack pursued his dream of storytelling at the University of Montana where he created documentaries and short stories centered around his favorite places: the National Parks. Jack later rose through the ranks as a production assistant on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and became an associate producer on multiple docu-series including Off Pitch (VH1) and Ghost Asylum (Destination America). This experience would soon lead Jack to co-create and host the Emmy Award winning television show Rock the Park. After years of hosting and producing an adventure television show, I've learned how to engage the audience by delivering content that places them right in the center of an experience. I work hard to make the viewer feel like their right there with me as I sit by the fire, walk through the woods and embrace the beauty of tiny cabin life. • Boxabl Is Transforming How Houses Are Made
    2024/03/06
What is Boxabl? Boxabl is a rapidly growing startup that has gained popularity partially thanks to Elon Musk but also because of the growing demand for tiny homes and a housing affordability crisis with no end in sight. The company’s flagship product is the Boxabl Casita, a 20-foot by 20-foot accessory dwelling unit that can be delivered directly to a customer’s backyard and ready to occupy in an hour. The unit is fitted out as a studio apartment with a full-size kitchen, bathroom, and living room and is expected to sell for $50,000. The company recently completed a $9.2 million order for the U.S. government and has a waitlist of over 120,000 units. To fulfill the current demand, Boxabl is raising capital from institutional and retail investors to build the world’s largest and most advanced housing factory. Boxabl received a strategic investment from D.R. Horton Inc. (NYSE: DHI), who agreed to share resources to help the company scale and placed an order for 100 units. The company is also raising capital on StartEngine through a Regulation A+ offering, which allows non-accredited investors to buy preferred shares with a $1,000 minimum investment. The current crowdfunding campaign for Boxabl on StartEngine has already exceeded $24 million in addition to over $55 million that was previously raised. BOXABL was started in 2017 by father-son duo Paolo and Galiano Tiramani. Paolo Tiramani is an industrial designer and mechanical engineer who has over 150 patent filings, and Galiano Tiramani is a serial technology entrepreneur. The company started with $2 million by the co-founders. They began R+D, testing, and scouring the planet for alternate building materials and methods that would enable automotive-style mass production of houses. In 2019, BOXABL was invited to attend the International Builders' Show in Las Vegas. They built the first BOXABL prototypes, and public interest in the project began to snowball. In May 2021, the company got a federal contract for more than $9 million to build and deliver 156 Casitas for a military base. In February 2022, the company announced a partnership agreement with homebuilder DR Horton, which included investment and resource sharing, as well as a Phase 1 order of 100 Casita homes. BOXABL breaks ground on Factory 1, a 170,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Las Vegas, NV. This factory enables BOXABL to begin low-volume production and prove the concept, making the case for the world's most advanced assembly line mass production of housing. BOXABL is currently in the planning stages for a multi-million-square-foot factory that will produce massive volumes of housing using advances in automation and taking advantage of economies of scale.
