  • Messy Musings - Always Learning
    2020/04/17

My Amazing Mess is a podcast hosted by actor and producer Laura Allen and singer/songwriter and actor Liv Austen. Every Friday we release our Messy Musings, where we discuss different aspects of being a self employed creative. In this episode we talk about learning. Creatives know well (maybe better than most) that you never stop learning in your job. We discuss the different ways of learning. Is formal training always the way? Or is learning on the job just as good? What if you have many different interests - how do you choose what to train in and when you have to accept that you will be going in to your first jobs fairly green, ready to learn? We would love to hear your thoughts on learning - comment on our Instagram or email us your thoughts at admin@myamazingmess.com!

  • Rebekah Walker - Choreographer and Director
    2020/04/06

My Amazing Mess is a podcast hosted by actor and producer Laura Allen and singer/songwriter and actor Liv Austen. In this episode we talk to Rebekah Walker, choreographer and director. She has worked for a big number of TV shows like The One Show, Lipsync Battle, Britain's Next Top Model and more. She has choreographed numerous adverts, including the iconic Billy Elliot-style Burberry advert featuring huge names like James Bay and Naomi Campbell. She also choreographed Liv's two connecting music videos for her double single release Detour and Whole Heart in 2019. She shares how a seemingly disastrous first ballet lesson was the sign of her calling to become a choreographer, and the exciting and sometimes challenging road that eventually brought her to pursuing it as a profession. With great insight and emotion, Rebekah shares her thoughts on the artist's life and how she believes creatives should value themselves and their work.
