On May 31, 1889, a wall of water tore through the valley town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, killing more than 2,000 people in minutes. It was the deadliest single-day loss of civilian life in U.S. history — until 9/11. This is the story of how the South Fork Dam failed, how the flood devastated an entire city, and how the American Red Cross stepped in. Grab some Merch! Listen to Watch Her Cook on Apple and Spotify! • 305: Stonewall National Monument’s Uprising. Ft. LGBTQ Outdoors.
    2025/06/16

Today we are joined by the Founder of LGBTQ Outdoors, Justin Yoder, as we tell the story of Marsha P. Johnson and the Stonewall Uprising. In the early hours of June 28, 1969, a police raid on the Stonewall Inn ignited a rebellion that would change history. The Stonewall Uprising became the catalyst to a nationwide LGBTQ rights movement. At the heart of this moment was Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans activist, drag queen, and revolutionary who became a symbol of resilience and joy in the face of injustice.
