Spencer and Dave are going back to 2000 to rewatch Troy Duffy's writer and directorial premier, The Boondock Saints. One of the knock off era Tarantino style flicks (which is never a bad thing in our books) that fuses with a Punisher like war on crime stories. With an ultra-Irish Boston flair that just makes you want to be a part of their journey. Featuring Young Indiana Jones himself, Sean Patrick Flanery, with Norman Reedus in one of his first big roles, Billy Connolly as the hitman dad, and Willem Dafoe chewing up the scenery as the flamboyant FBI detective. The movie is just a great fun ride and still holds up as time has passed.
We also go in a bit to the Documentary Overnight, that explains the trials and tribulations on how tough it was to get this movie off the ground and how Troy Duffy found ways to blow it too. The behind-the-scenes stories of The Boondock Saints is almost more fascinating than even the film itself. A good film school education can be had out of the whole experience.
