• #182: Miami's Preseason Ranking - Good Possum Face
    2025/08/08

Toast's nephew is officially on campus at UM getting ready to play baseball for the Canes, Roman's daughter is his hero, and Metallica's potential residency at the Vegas sphere has us all pumped up for this week's show. And as camp officially opens down in Coral Gables, Mario appears to be more calm and relaxed going into the season, a different vibe from the last few seasons. Scoop is big on Carson Beck as he's begun watching him throw, and as such we debate Phil Steele rating the Miami Wide Receiver room as #23 in the country.

Mario enters year #4 with some big expectations for Toast, even though Scoop feels like even if he falls short again this year his job is still secure. And Danny Kanell had some terrible opinions about Miami going into the season - an easy job for an obnoxious FSU guy - but it's so off base that it becomes comical. Plus we somehow get into the kicking competition at camp and how nervous we are after losing an automatic kicker like Andy Boregales.

The Wheel of Topics this week includes another WNBA dildo-throwing incident and what it will take for that to eventually stop... even though we find it hilarious. Plus the cancelling of Howard Stern at SiriusXM has been a long time coming despite an amazing career, President Trump butchering Tua's name during a press conference, the NFL's "ban" on smelling salts, and Louisiana's new law where slow drivers could face jail time.

And this week's Five Questions includes products designed for clueless consumers, celebrity rebrands that actually worked, things we'd throw on the WNBA floor if we were up to no good, the one thing that would kill our enemy if they were granted immortality, whether or not we'd support a social media ban for young kids, what animal would be the rudest, and what celebrity would look better after plastic surgery.

  • #180: Miami at ACC Media Days - It'll Melt Eventually
    2025/07/25

We open the show with the slew of celebrity deaths that landed on us this week, but none harder than the passing of Hulk Hogan, who was a global icon on one of the biggest levels. Of course everyone was bummed about Ozzy's passing, and the tragedy around Malcom Jamal Warner, as our childhood quickly died off this week.

But we pivot to Miami at ACC Media Days, with great audio from Mark Richt sitting down with Carson, and Carson's comments about why he chose to leave UGA for Miami and how that revolves around the offensive talent. Mesidor also has some high praise for new DC Corey Hetherman who is letting them "play free and play fast." Francis Mauigoa had more great things to say about the "wall of Mirabal" and how hard the offensive line works.

Plus we get an epic report from our old friend IP Daley from ACC Media Days, as he takes down the ACC media and of course the Florida State Seminoles. And one of the more interesting rankings this week came from the Athletic who ranked the Power 4 conference schools by their value, based on revenue and over worth, and Miami came in at #24... but some of these other schools on the list cleared a cool billion.

Stories of the week include the guy who got arrested for credit card fraud at a Chuck E Cheese, while dressed AS Chuck E Cheese! We have to play some of the hilarious audio from South Park's season premier with Donald Trump and Satan, Scoop sounds off on Phil Mickelson's bad take about Scottie Scheffler (and the worst takes we've ever had on the show), and the Browns video guy who fell in the lake during their new helmet reveal.

And Roman's Five Questions this week include what we'd do with a magic potion, things that make us roll our eyes every time we hear them, the difference between confidence and arrogance, our wrestling name and finishing moves, and what animal we'd bite the head off of.

This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, BeatinTheBookie.com & Manscaped.

  • #179: Miami ACC Kickoff Preview - Bill and Dan in the Mailroom
    2025/07/18

It's stories from Roman's cruise, and how Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" got stuck in Toast's head, as we get into this week's show - where everyone is finally back! And crazy enough we are only six weeks away from our first game against Notre Dame, which means Student of the Game is also just around the corner. The common denominator when evaluating Miami in 2025 seems to be consistently coming back to Carson Beck's status and what to expect from him as he starts his Miami career.

We are also a week out from ACC Media Days in Charlotte and Toast wants to know what position groups the guys are most looking forward to seeing in camp. And Roman asks if we're more concerned about the receivers room or the cornerbacks room. Plus Miami locked up another good receiver through NIL which fired up the haters on spending money again, even though Texas has always been outspending everyone for years. And no one is buying the rumors that Nick Saban is returning to coaching, but if he did it would be hilarious if he went to Cleveland and brough Belichick in to be his DC.

That leads us into some of the amazing audio from Shane Gillis who roasted all of the professional sports world as the host of the ESPYs this year. And Toast thought the coolest thing he saw this week was the Braves tribute to Hank Aaron during the All Star Game, which was an amazing 3D projection right onto the field at Truist Park. And one of the craziest stories of the week surrounds Teddy Bridgewater's suspension from Miami Northwestern for helping his players with meals and transportation, which sparks a large debate about the FHSAA rules and how they are flexing on a public school versus a private school.

There's also a wild wheel of audio this week - which starts with the biggest viral story of the week as Coldplay caught a cheating CEO on the kiss cam with his HR director, and everyone has some crazy mixed opinions about how this went down. This somehow spins into a debate about whether the Goo Goo Dolls are better than Coldplay, and the worst (and best) bands we've ever seen live... just another one of our random tangents.

Roman's Five Questions returns, which this week includes things that makes music special, who would take more time off work if both men and women could get pregnant, where you would go if you could travel back in time a year, where you would go with a one-way ticket back in time, who we would haunt if we were ghosts, and what our kryptonite is in life.

  • #178: Miam's EA Player Rankings - Wisconsin's Suing Over Our 6th Best Corner
    2025/07/10

How we start the show with a conversation about "scrotox" is beyond any of us but sure enough that's where things begin this week. But we quickly get down to Greentree and Toast jumps right into the EA College Football 26 rankings for the key players across the roster. And as we really look at the numbers, it's amazing how far off-base some of the EA evaluations are, especially on offense. Plus everyone has a good laugh at the rating of the secondary, especially since Wisconsin is suing Miami over Xavier Lucas who rated out as our sixth best cornerback according to EA.

We also dive into ESPN's ACC rankings, because we are floored that FSU came in at #5 on their preseason list. And we have to take a look at Joel Klatt's list of the teams most likely to make their first College Football Playoff, and how the defense is going to make all the difference on whether Miami gets there or not. Scoop also discusses his theory that Shannon Dawson's best season last year had nothing to do with him, it was all on Cam Ward, which brings us some discomfort about what he'll roll out this season.

The Canes got another big flip, as Mario flipped 4-Star CB Brody Jennings from Michigan... but for some Canes fans that isn't enough. The concern remains that hometown kids from South Florida are committing to other schools and Miami continues to miss out on these big local prospects. Congratulations also goes out to Jai Lucas for putting together a potential Top 20 Basketball class and completely rebuilding the roster.

And with Roman out, Jenners takes to the Wheel of Topics to bring together a round of Five Questions with the topics of the week. That includes Deion Sanders and Bill Belichick being given fake generic names in EA College Football 26, and what fake names we've used or loved in the past. The Kentucky Punter that got a ZERO toughness rating in the game leads us to a question about where we post zero's in our own lives. We also bring in the best audio of the week of an enormous golf fight that went viral this week, followed up with a question about the biggest fight we ever got into. The Florida man who stole a Conch train in Key West leads us to the last thing we stole. And after Scoop's nightmare day, things we do to calm down on terrible days.

  • #177: Miami's Early Rankings - It's What's For Dinner
    2025/07/03

We kick off the show with Scoop's new Bange hat - even though he hates where the font is located on the hat and immediately bails on it at the start of the show. And as we get down to Greentree, we jump into Athlon's rankings with Miami at #10, and Texas (with a hype man of Paul Finebaum) coming in at #1.

Scoop is also still concerned about the wide receivers and hopes that the tight ends step up to the challenge and Lofton elevates to a Restrepo-esq level for this offense. Plus Scoop actually did some show prep and found out a little more about Carson Beck's game while he was at Georgia and what he needs to see from him at Miami. Beck was also one of three Canes to come in with an EA College Football 26 ranking over 90, along with Mauigoa and Bain, and what that really means (if anything) to kids who look at Miami these days.

The Wheel of Topics this week covers the Florida Panthers re-signing most of their roster (and some hilarious Marchand audio from the parade last week), the final New Orleans inmate that's still on the run, and the case of the NY firefighter who got suspended for letting "hot girls" ride on the firetruck.

And Roman's Five Questions include a song we could hear again for the first time, timeless songs, things people aren't ready to hear, what we would do to help our friends get their memories back, something you shouldn't try that people say you wouldn't know unless you try, and the foods you'd have in your food fight arsenal. Scoop's bonus question is something you love and hate at the same time.

  • #176: Big Miami Expectations - Parlez-vous Chicken Fingers
    2025/06/20

We are all finally back from vacations and the crew is back together for the first time in a month! Scoop immediately has stories to share from his trip to Paris, including how kind the French were in comparison to the people in South Florida. He also offers up his opinion that French cuisine, while it is held in such high regard, is actually really awful.

As we get down to Greentree, Scoop catches up with some of the topics of the previous weeks, including potential All-Americans and ceiling-floor guys in the running back room. Plus Scoop wants to know how we would feel if this Canes offense this season looked like Michigan from two years ago, and it draws a very mixed reaction.

Everyone also wants to spend some time celebrating the Panthers winning their second consecutive Stanley Cup and the amazing audio of Barcov knocking on his neighbor. And the Wheel of Topics takes us from Dereon Coleman's statement about having Cam Ward potential, Giants QBs Tommy Devito and Jaxson Dart's aspirations to go on "Love Island" and a serial farting dart player.

And Roman's Five Questions returns, including who's the best villain, the stupidest thing we've seen someone pay for, something that instantly brings us back to our childhood, the best thing we've ever tasted, and our Star Wars themed bars.

  • #175: Miami NIL and the NCAA Settlement - The Poo Fighters
    2025/06/12

Roman is back! But Scoop is gone this week... so it seems like the show is never going to be back together until Fall! And Roman shares a story about his father informing him while in Italy that they have a famous relative who turned out to be a high level mafia boss. And as we get down to Greentree, we have to apologize for not mentioning the baseball super-regionals once last week, after they turned around a bad start to make a bit of a run.

Then we turn the corner to the biggest story of the week, the NCAA settlement about how players can and will get paid, and how it will affect the Miami Hurricanes. Roman rolls out the suggestion of taking the allocated $20.5 million and allocate it to every sport except for football, because football can raise that kind of money on their own. And as college football continues to evolve we wonder if we'll still enjoy College Football in 10 years like we did in our youth.

David Lake wrote a great piece for 247 this week about Miami's "floor and ceiling" players by position, and Ro agrees with the assertion that Jordan Lyle is the ceiling for the running back room, spinning us into a conversation about potential All-Americans this season. Toast is also feeling like Mario might pull a Top 3 class this year, we share a fond farewell to Aaron Feld who is stepping away from the game for the right reasons, and Roman shares that his daughter has been invited to a very high profile women's volleyball camp at Miami!

The Wheel of Topics this week starts with the 9-year-old Panthers fan who went super viral for loving the fights in Game 3, plus Lee Corso's final ride with the College GameDay headgear in Week 1 of the college football season, why the Steelers would ever sign Aaron Rodgers, and Joey Chestnut's hopeful return to the July 4th hot dog eating contest.

And Roman returns for his first round of Five Questions in a few weeks, which this week includes the worst candies we've ever eaten, things that traumatize us, cartoons from our childhood we'd still watch today, jobs that won't be around in 50 years, inanimate objects we would have conversations and changing a band's name with one letter.
