  • 283 // Interviewing Alien: Earth Composer Jeff Russo
    2025/07/22

This is a big one, folks! Our first interview with someone involved directly in the production of Alien: Earth (first of more to come ...). We're so pleased to bring you this conversation with Jeff Russo, composer of the intriguing score of FX's Alien: Earth.

Jeff, a frequent Noah Hawley collaborator, has had quite the career: originally a founding member of Grammy-nominated rock band Tonic, Jeff transitioned into scoring film, television, and video games in the 2000s. He recently won an Emmy in 2017 for another Hawley collaboration: the acclaimed FX series Fargo.

In today's interview, Jeff recounts in vivid detail his love for the Alien series, his creative relationship with Noah Hawley, and so much more.

A special note: Jeff is premiering two tracks from Alien: Earth two days before the show premieres on FX, and he'd love to see you there! Details and tickets can be found at: https://creationentertainment859.activehosted.com/index.php?action=social&c=4232&m=4690

  • 280 // A Predator In An Alien Film
    2025/06/17

In this episode, Patrick and Jaime welcome AvP Galaxy’s Adam Zeller for a bold and timely conversation about a major development: the possible return of the Predator—this time, in a sequel to Alien: Romulus. What could this mean for the future of the Alien franchise? Is it a bold evolution, or a risky crossover just as Alien is rediscovering its creative core?

Together, we explore the legacy of both creatures, the pitfalls of merging iconic IPs, and the essential question at the heart of it all: what makes Alien worth preserving?

This is one of our most passionate, provocative, and essential episodes to date.

  • 278 // What If Ripley Hadn't Survived the Nostromo ... But Someone Else Had?
    2025/06/03

Listener Peter Wright wrote to us back in January with a killer episode idea: what if Ripley never made it off the ship, but someone (or something) else had?

In today's show—a loose continuation of our ongoing "What If" series—Perry, Andie, Ross, and Patrick tease through all the various ways that question could play out. What if Dallas had survived? Would he have known to check on Special Order 937? What if Lambert had survived? Would she have jumped ship, overwhelmed by fear, and come back with reinforcements for a potential sequel?

What if Parker had survived? Would we have an entire guns blazin' '80s action fest franchise by this point?

And along the way, we realize just how lucky we are that Ripley was, indeed, Last Survivor of the Nostromo.

This conversation was a ton of fun, and we look forward to hearing your OWN "What If" scenarios!
