    The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the latest action from the USC women's and men's basketball teams, including the Women of Troy being harassed from start to finish by a Notre Dame team that showed USC has a lot of work it needs to do to reach the big expectations and aspirations for this season. Shotgun and Connor also look back at USC men's 80-69 victory over Grambling State that was a struggle throughout until the Trojans closed strong, finishing the game on a 13-2 run to improve to 5-1. The podcasters look at where the men and women's programs stand after three weeks of action with plenty of concerns still needing to be addressed by both teams as they try to jell with so many new faces on both rosters. Shotgun and Connor also preview the upcoming weekend of action in the desert as both teams travel to Palm Springs to play in the Acrisure Classic tournament. The Women of Troy try to shake the blues and get back on track against a couple of blue teams in Seton Hall and Saint Louis. The Trojans bested Seton Hall last year around the same time of year when playing in a tournament in the Bahamas, but both of these teams have completely revamped their roster with nine new players. The men face their toughest non-conference matchups this season, taking on perennial West Coast Conference-contender Saint Mary's and either Arizona State or New Mexico, who are both off to strong starts this season.     In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio for a holiday week edition of the Peristyle Podcast that will also serve as our game preview Tunnel Vision show this week. USC is coming off its 19-13 win over UCLA in the Rose Bowl where the team had the flu.     Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return behind the microphones for another episode of the Helium Boys Podcast, a serious non-serious USC football podcast. The Helium Boys are back to break down the Trojans becoming bowl eligible after a come-from-behind 19-13 victory over UCLA at the Rose Bowl that pushes USC back above .500 at 6-5. They also look forward, giving their thoughts on another rivalry matchup as the Trojans take on No. 5 Notre Dame Saturday in the Coliseum The episode opens with the Helium Boys staple 'Two-Minute Drill' that features Shotgun going stream of consciousness after Chris uses his 'Two-Minute Drill' to discuss the grind this season has been and offer a correction and apology for a mistake he made last year. Chris and Shotgun then dive into their Stock Up/Stock Down segment looking at the players and themes that saw their stock rise or dip this week. Fourth-down stops are discussed after USC had three, including on each of the final two UCLA offensive drives. Makai Lemon and his dynamic efforts as a receiver, returner and even passer very obviously make the list as do the continued efforts of Trojan punter Eddie Czaplicki. Shotgun also brings up the major improvements in USC's tackling under the first-year defensive staff. On the flip side, the Trojans' saw issues in the red zone, having to settle for field goals three times after being inside the UCLA 5-yard line. After a break, the podcast duo answer your mailbag questions discussing Duce Robinson's usage and the possibility of Lincoln Riley relinquishing offensive coordinator duties. There are also several Thanksgiving-related questions.     On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith and Ryan Abraham are back from a late night in the Rose Bowl where they witnessed USC's first ever Big Ten road victory, taking down crosstown rival UCLA 19-13. It wasn't the prettiest game in recent memory, but head coach Lincoln Riley and the team will take the conference win regardless. The Trojans are now 6-5 and bowl eligible with an opportunity to knock Notre Dame out of a playoff berth next week in the Coliseum. This was a far from perfect performance by the Trojans, only scoring one touchdown while struggling in the red zone and allowing over 100 yards rushing to a UCLA squad that struggled to run the football this season. But USC did shutout the Bruins in the 4th quarter and closed out the game on a high note, outscoring UCLA 10-0 in that final period. New quarterback Jayden Maiava didn't turn the ball over and give the Bruins easy scores like he did last week against Nebraska, despite having a flu outbreak on team throughout the week leading up to the game. The guys talk about some of the issues they had with this game including some of the play calling, specifically in the red zone where USC kept throwing low percentage fade routes from inside the 5-yard line instead of just handing the ball off to the offensive MVP Woody Marks (Of the 9 plays the Trojans ran inside the UCLA 5-yard line, Marks only got one touch). Despite having no turnovers and amazing starting field position of USC's own 42 yard line, the Trojans could only put up 19 points, easily the worst offensive performance of the season. Luckily the other side of the ball may have played its best game, picking up three sacks on Ethan Garbers and only allowing 13 points while ending the game forcing two straight four-and-outs.
