  • Kim Wentzel
    2025/08/10

On this week's show, Pete chats with his friend Kim Wentzel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who lives in St. Croix and just happens to be a singer and a guitar player too! Kim is also the daughter of the late, great Al Rosenberg of MTV, Imus and the Howard Stern Show fame. Kim talks about her background, what got her started in social work and performing, life on the island, and they both talk about their experiences and memories related to Al, including a benefit Kim and Pete played for Al's favorite charity, RISE of NJ.

You can learn more about RISE of NJ and donate if you choose at http://njrise.org

You can listen to Kim's dad Al on the Miserable Men Show at Pete's archive site at http://www.miserablereplay.com Al is on the show from January 2008 thru December 2010. Shows were originally broadcast on SiriusXM radio and are maintained for historical (and hysterical) purposes only.

    Floradora:

This pink stunner is an homage to the "Florodora Sextete," six

scandalously beautiful young ladies who danced in the 1900 musical

Florodora at New York's Casino Theatre. Just like the dancers who

went on to marry millionaires--as David Wondrich recounts in his

book, Imbibe!-the Florodora cocktail is unapologetically alluring, a

mess of muddled raspberries swirled with lime, gin, and ginger soda.

It was most definitely drunk by the well-heeled crowds who sidled up

to its likely barroom of origin, at the Waldorf Astoria hotel.

    4 RASPBERRIES

    1½ OUNCES GIN

    ½ OUNCE SIMPLE

    SYRUP

    1 OUNCE LIME JUICE

    GINGER ALE, TO TOP

    GARNISH

    ORANGE WHEEL,

    LIME WHEEL, AND

    A RASPBERRY

In a cocktail shaker, muddle raspberries with simple syrup. Add

gin, lime juice, and ice and shake until chilled. Double strain into

a Collins glass over ice. Top up with ginger ale. Garnish with an

orange wheel, lime wheel, and a raspberry.

  • Denise Stajkowski
    2025/06/29

On this week's show we do a deep dive interview with the delightful Denise Stajkowski, author of the book "Let's Talk About It - A Healing Journey Through Pain To Peace" based on Denise's own experiences from around age six to today. I found this to be a difficult read, but an ultimately rewarding one as well. I should mention that the book touches on some very dark and disturbing behavior, so be aware.
