Well, hey, and welcome to the Become Better podcast. I am your host, Nate, and I am so glad that you are here.

On today's episode, we have Ken and Corey on the show, and we dive into an update on some of the cool things that are happening out at our Prescott Valley; then, we dive into talking about Sunday's message and answering questions that have been submitted.

With Thanksgiving on the way this week, we just wanted to give you guys an update that the office will be closed on Wednesday through Friday. We hope you have a great Thanksgiving and see you guys Sunday at either campus.

Finally, if you haven’t listened to Sunday's message, I want to encourage you to stop here and listen to it, as it will help make this conversation more meaningful.

Well, without further ado, we hope you enjoy this conversation.

  • Message | But First...The Bad News
    2024/11/25

Chapter 2 begins with Paul teaching the good news, but to accurately teach the good news, people need to hear the bad news. Paul shares the bad news first. There is a cultural idea that we are all good people: since we are all children of God we must do something really bad to have that status removed. "Good” is our default position., and we have to behave our way to “bad.”

However, that isn’t what scripture teaches. We begin as those under the wrath of God, and without Christ, that is where we will remain.

  • Message | "In Christ"
    2024/11/11

This week our study of the church of Ephesus moves us into the book of Ephesians. This letter was likely written around 60 AD. Paul left his ministry in Ephesus around 56 AD. He went to Jerusalem and was arrested and eventually was taken to Rome. It was from his Roman detention that Paul writes this letter back to the people he spent over 2 years doing ministry with. The letter to the Ephesians begins with a reminder of all that comes with being “In Christ”. This term is used in some fashion 9 times in the first 14 verses.
