Unfortunately, the show has to start off with some bad news. Singer and songwriter Roberta Flack passed away at the age of 88 on Monday, February 24th. There is no cause of death known to the public yet, but the “Killing Me Softly” singer did reveal she was diagnosed with ALS two and a half years ago. Our condolences go out to the Flack family and her close friends. She will be deeply missed.

A few weeks ago, we lost record producer and co-founder of Murder Inc, Irv Gotti. At first there was no official cause of death but there was mention that he was in a coma due to a stroke. Irv Gotti’s brother, Chris Gotti, revealed that Irv did have a stroke and suffered from diabetes. Chris also said that Irv did not go to the doctor often and did not like going to the doctor which put him in the health situation he was in before his passing. Also, hip-hop icon, the legendary MC Lyte joins the RSMS crew. MC Lyte recently dropped her first album in ten years, and she spoke about the process of recording new music. Joy Reid has signed off from The Reidout on MSNBC after her long running show has been cancelled. The show did drop in ratings, but Reid and others feel she lost the show due to her speaking her true feelings about Donald Trump.
