Rite Now Radio: Juneteenth Episode will air on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 9am CST. We have Mr. Brandon Gordon (@bgvsbrandon), Ms. Ashley Millon (@amarie_2u) (@sipandsitpodcast), Ms. Kioka Tuck (@Miss T's Book Room) who joined us for a great conversation!!!

Here is a short snippet for everyone to enjoy! This show will be available on all platforms: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, Spotify! The goal is to enlighten our audience on the true reason for celebrating Juneteenth and the freedom that was granted to our African American culture. This is an open panel discussion of collaborative, collective conversations diving deeper into history that led us off the slave ship through the Underground Railroad, tunnels, wilderness, to becoming educated with degrees, changing the world as we became educators, armed soldiers, law enforcement officers, athletes, scientists, entertainers, entrepreneurs. Highlight the people who fought for our rights, let’s do deeper than Dr. King and Rosa Parks.

Let’s discuss Arthur Ashe, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, our local heroes like Johnnie Carr who attended St. Jude Catholic Church with me. Highlight people you know that attended ASU, who live and are from Tuskegee. We definitely want to highlight black inventors who never received credit for their achievements and were failed to be documented in history books. You can discuss topics such as school integration at the University of Alabama, University of Georgia, University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Auburn University, Little Rock 9, Memphis 13, Tuskegee Airmen.

Any known black communities that were once thriving in Montgomery, Selma, Tuskegee that no longer exist. Old Alabama Town, Old Africa Town in Mobile, AL (just a few ideas lol but I’d like for you to be creative and speak from whatever is on your heart).

For the viewers and listeners, let's discuss, "How do you feel that schools and universities are improving or need to improve on highlighting African American pioneers and history?"
