  • At the Lord's Table (1 Corinthians 11:17-34)
    2024/10/20

On October 20, Pastor Jeff looked at 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, and how the practice of the Lord’s Table invites us away from the world's table to realign our lives with Jesus' teachings, reminding us of our shared need for grace and redemption while embodying the values of peace, forgiveness, and love. As we come together in communion, we proclaim the hope found in Christ's sacrifice and anticipate the day when all things will be made new.

On October 12, as part of our Light & Darkness series through John's pastoral letters, Kevin Bruchert examined 3 John, highlighting the importance of showing hospitality and supporting fellow believers in their ministry, while warning against pride and divisive behavior within the church. Our takeaway is to be the kind of people in the room who remain humble, encourage others in their faith, and foster unity by welcoming and supporting those spreading the truth of the Gospel.

As we reflected on John's letter, we saw a clear vision of what it means to live faithfully within a community grounded in love and truth. Our elders guide us with wisdom, and our local church is a place where faith grows and transformation happens. To stay anchored to Jesus, we need both the truth of God and the bonds of community, which tie us together in God’s love. When we lift each other up, we become beacons of encouragement, shining brightest in times of struggle. Just as a conductor brings harmony to an orchestra, our lives must reflect the melody of love that fulfills Christ's commandment. As a simple community of Jesus followers, we are called to protect and guard the faith that has been entrusted to us, recognizing the profound value of being face-to-face, where true joy and connection come alive. Together, we are a community that lives, loves, and journeys forward in Christ.
