このコンテンツについて

Welcome to Rugby Legends – the podcast that brings you insight and advice from international players and coaches for young rugby players who are keen to learn and get better. I’m Arthur Dickins, I’m 12 years old and a keen rugby player. In each episode I sit down with amazing current and former stars of rugby to hear about their journey from first picking up a rugby ball to playing and coaching at the highest level. I get to ask them the kinds of questions that my fellow age-grade rugby players (and their coaches!) want to ask, such as: What made you pick rugby over other sports? How did you arrive in your position? How did you know you were good enough to go professional? What’s the best advice you received from a coach? How do you deal with nerves before a big game? How do you bounce back from a bad game? And lots more! If you are a young player such as me, a coach of young players, or you simply love rugby, I think you’ll really enjoy hearing the wisdom, knowledge and experience shared by these inspiring legends of the game.Copyright 2025 All rights reserved. ラグビー

  • Ollie Lawrence - What It Really Takes to Make It
    2025/06/20

What makes someone give up one dream to chase another?

In this episode, Ollie Lawrence shares how he left behind a promising football future to go all-in on rugby—and went pro at just 16. He talks about the pressure of making that decision, and how his childhood heroes helped shape his playing style.

We get into what it really takes to play centre at the highest level—plus the lesser-known skills that separate the good from the great. Ollie breaks down the advice that stuck with him, how he bounced back from injury, and what his matchday prep looks like, from nutrition to mental mantras.

There’s also chat about Finn Russell, the best opponents Ollie’s ever faced, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like living the pro rugby lifestyle.

  • Sir Clive Woodward - Mindset Wins Matches
    2025/05/30

What does it take to win a World Cup—not just as a player, but as the coach leading your country to victory?

In this episode of Rugby Legends, Arthur interviews Sir Clive Woodward, the coach who led England to glory in 2003. But this isn’t just about lifting trophies. It’s about the mindset behind it all. The mistakes, the habits, the leadership—and the importance of never settling for average.

Sir Clive explains how he spots potential in young players, how he teaches teams to bounce back from setbacks, and what makes a great captain. He shares moments from his playing career and how that shaped him into the coach he became. He even breaks down how to stay calm under pressure, how to keep improving when you think you’ve “made it,” and why character off the pitch matters just as much as skill on it.

If you’re 12–16 and serious about rugby, sport, or just growing as a person—this episode is full of lessons you’ll want to remember.
