Welcome to the first episode of this special Public Sector series. To get us started we have the inspirational Rana Malik joining us.
Rana has been working in the education sector for 35 years. She has worked with pupils within behavioural units, pupils that have been excluded from school and is now a head of year as well as a part time lecturer.
In this interview she is very honest about the racists abuse that she experienced in school and how that contributed to a feeling of exclusion and isolation. She felt completely failed by the education sector but has used her trauma & pain towards positive change. Rana is dedicated to improving the education sector by ensuring that no student shares her educational experience.
