    Maggie is fresh off of opening for a band that David Fricke has called “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll big band” - Tedeschi Trucks. In celebration, we’re re-releasing the episode with the great Susan Tedeschi. And there’s a lot going on in Susan’s world at the moment: Fantasy Recordings is re-issuing her breakthrough album, Just Won’t Burn, to mark its 25th anniversary. And, Tedeschi Trucks Band is about to play two landmark arena shows - their first performances ever at Boston’s TD Garden on September 27 and at Madison Square Garden on September 28. Susan Tedeschi Trucks is a blues guitarist and singer-songwriter who leads the Tedeschi Trucks Band along with Derek Trucks. Susan is known for her guitar playing and her incredible voice, blending R&B, Rock, and Gospel into a soulful combination, which she talks about with Maggie on this episode. Susan explains why right now is a particularly important time for the female voice to be heard and shares some of the silver linings that came out of the pandemic.     Grammy-nominated musician Grace Potter joins Maggie to talk about her latest album, Mother Road, which marks a turning point in her creative journey. Maggie and Grace discuss what it means to commit to a life in music, vulnerability in songwriting, and advocating for the women who have influenced their work. Grace talks about the videos she made for the new record, and shares the story of the filmmaking career she pursued which led her to her first band. Back in summer 2021, Grace Potter took off on a solo cross-country road trip that would soon bring a life-saving reconnection with her most unbridled self. Heading out on Route 66 from her home in Topanga Canyon, the Vermont-born artist spent the coming weeks crashing in roadside motels and taking time each night to deliriously transcribe the song ideas she’d dreamed up behind the wheel, often scrawling those notes onto the backs of postcards and motel notepads. The result is Mother Road, an album that marks the start of a thrilling new era of Grace’s career. Mother Road is available now.
