Can you imagine packing up your life after university and heading to South America to start a community project? That’s exactly what Sarah Abdoo did. After graduating from Oxford University, she flew to Bolivia and began building connections that changed her life and the lives of the women in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
Meet Sarah Abdoo, the founder of Adelante Mujer. Sarah’s mission began with small workshops in safe houses, offering local Bolivian women a path to life free from violence. Over time, it grew into a bridge connecting tourists with local communities, a network of women supporting one another, and eventually a community-led organization.
Adelante Mujer now provides workshops, classes, and programs that help women earn higher incomes, improve their working conditions, and most importantly, heal from the past to lead empowered futures.
Sarah’s story moved us deeply—her passion, courage, and love for this mission are nothing short of inspiring.
Tune in to learn about her connection to Bolivia, the challenges and triumphs of her journey, her evolving sense of womanhood, and the shocking realities of gender discrimination faced by women in Bolivia.
