We break down the complex problems Charlie, a 600lb shut-in teacher, faces while trying to mend a broken relationship with his daughter, Ellie. Brendan Fraser's transformative performance as Charlie secured him the Best Actor Academy Award this year. Hong Chau was also nominated for a supporting role for Liz. We both really enjoyed this movie, the very relevant and real problems it presents to the audience, and the powerful message of encouragement in the character of Charlie.
