She Is Uncaged: Women Who Have Found Inner Peace

著者: Heather
  • サマリー

  • I used to think it was just me. Stuck in this cage, when by all accounts I have every tool I need to get out of it. But as I’ve dropped just about everything in order to dig in and figure out what the hell is wrong with me, I’ve met quite a few other women who are exceptionally intelligent, capable, creative, attractive, and ….. stuck. They’re trapped in their own cages too. They don’t feel like they’re living up to their potential or doing enough, being enough….And for some it’s just the opposite. “I’m way too much this. I’m way too much that.” And I want to know why. I want to help self-critical women feel seen so that they can stop fighting for approval and find inner peace. And that’s why I created the She Is Uncaged Podcast. Each week I’ll be interviewing women who have been there. They’ve felt completely trapped, stuck, caged….and they somehow managed to find a way out. I’ll be sharing their stories so that the rest of us realize we are not alone and we don’t have to stay trapped forever. My name is Heather Greenslade, and I’m so glad you’re here. You are enough. You are not too much. And you’re not alone.

  • Lauren Lox: Award Winning Filmmaker and Certified Badass
    2021/06/09

From a young age, Lauren knew two things.  She knew she loved everything about acting, and she knew she was attracted to women.  Her Southern Baptist parents weren't onboard with either of these passions, and when they discovered Lauren's truths all Hell broke loose.  After a few years of being a "good girl," she left her town, her controlling husband, and her parents behind  and ran off with $70 to her name to create a new life.  "Dawn," a film she wrote, directed, and starred in loosely based on her story recently won the audience choice award at a major film festival, and she's joining me to tell her whole story. Buckle up!

Btw, Lauren was kind enough to be my very first podcast interview, and I hadn't figured this all out yet so it was a mess and took a ton of editing, and that's why it's coming out 4th even though we mention it being first!

  • After 20 Years, She Found the Courage to Leave Her Abuser
    2021/05/19

Dianne and I became friends when she was a stay-at-home mom,  the youngest of her 4 children was only 3 years old and her 5 year old was enduring once-weekly chemotherapy treatments for the foreseeable future.  I had no idea of the other horrors she was enduring at home.  Within the next year, she left her abuser of 20 years (with 4 children in tow) and started over completely.  I've never been in such awe of a person's strength and fortitude.  So I invited her on the show to ask her, "How did you get so brave? Are you an anomaly or could someone else learn to be that brave too?"
