    Shri Bhagavad Gita Chapter 14, Verse 1

    Sanskrit Verse:
    श्रीभगवानुवाच |
    परं भूयः प्रवक्ष्यामि ज्ञानानां ज्ञानमुत्तमम् |
    यज्ज्ञात्वा मुनयः सर्वे परां सिद्धिमितो गताः || 1||

    Transliteration:
    Śrī Bhagavān uvāca |
    Paraṃ bhūyaḥ pravakṣyāmi jñānānāṃ jñānam uttamam |
    Yaj jñātvā munayaḥ sarve parāṃ siddhim ito gatāḥ ||

    Translation:
    The Supreme Lord said: I shall once again proclaim the supreme knowledge among all forms of knowledge, which, when understood, has led all sages to the highest state of perfection.

    Meaning:

    Introduction of Supreme Knowledge: Lord Krishna begins Chapter 14 by promising to reveal the most exalted knowledge (uttamam jñānam) that surpasses all others. Wisdom as a Path to Liberation: This knowledge, when realized, enables sages (munayaḥ) to achieve liberation (parāṃ siddhim), transcending the cycle of birth and death. Emphasis on its Importance: The use of “bhūyaḥ pravakṣyāmi” signifies that Krishna is reiterating this knowledge for its profound significance. Encouragement for Arjuna: By declaring that sages have attained perfection through this knowledge, Krishna motivates Arjuna to attentively receive these teachings.

    This verse sets the stage for the teachings in Chapter 14, which focus on the three modes of material nature (gunas) and their influence on human behavior and spiritual progress.
