Katie and Bridget make bug jokes as they re-watch the Pixar classic: A Bug's Life! Come along as we meet Flik, an ant with Rick-Moranis-inventor-dad energy who puts his already enslaved ant colony in more danger by losing all of the gathered food for their evil overlords - aka the grasshoppers (not crickets, which we're still confused by the two). When Hopper, a character that would do great in our current administration with how evil he is, demands they gather twice as much food, Flik sets out to find "warrior bugs" to fight them off and save the colony. Well he doesn't really find that, but he does come across the bug circus filled with bug talents and more - you guessed it - bug jokes. Will the ants be able to be upstanders and defeat the grasshoppers once and for all? Did Katie and Bridget need to do excessive amounts of Googling bug facts during this episode!? Katie and Bridget keep each other awake as they rewatch the 80's horror classic: A Nightmare on Elm Street! Come along as we meet Nancy, an allegedly 15 year old teenager, who begins to have nightmares about Freddy Krueger, a bumbly serial killer with finger knives! Ah! When her friend Tina, her boyfriend Glenn, and the local menace Rod all have similar dreams of the same man then everybody starts dying! Seriously - there's lots of cool deaths in this movie with lots and lots of blood. Nobody believes Nancy when she tries to tell everyone who the killer is - not even her Mom who murdered the damn guy and is keeping his finger knife glove in her basement as a trophy - spoiler alert! It's up to Nancy to do all the research, make all the booby traps, and fight back against Freddy in her dreams. Seriously, should Nancy be the chief of police instead of her father!? Come along as meet Evelyn, a housewife who gets ignored constantly until she meets her new BFF Ninny! When she tells the tale of her alleged sister-in-law Idgie and her basically love story with a woman named Ruth, Evelyn learns to stand up for herself and develop multiple personality disorder #Towanda. Idgie and Ruth's story spans over decades and includes numerous train accidents/deaths, the plot to the song "Goodbye Earl", forbidden love, domestic abuse, racism, patriarchal bullshit, and cannibalism! This movie has us asking the deep questions such as: Should all children still be shown PSA videos about not playing on train tracks like Bridget and Katie experienced as kids? Is murdering your abusive/baby-snatching husband and then barbecuing him to be eaten by strangers sometimes the only way?? WAS NINNY REALLY IDGIE AND THIS WAS HER CONFESSION!? She's got style, she's got a job, she's got full time mother responsibilities to her out of work father, and she's got her own personal stalker! Aka her "friend" Duckie! When Andie gets asked out by Blane, one of the "richies" from her school, they have the worst first date ever and after they make out she says she loves him! Also he immediately invites her to prom! Wtf! But this movie asks the deep questions we all have wondered at some point in our lives, such as: Can a poor girl date a rich dude? Should we call the police and/or the guidance counselor about Duckie and the fact that he's been held back for the last couple of years? Is prom the most important event in a young girls life or is dumping all the loser men around you and going to fashion school the most important instead!? Katie and Bridget do a ridiculous amount of different activities that should never be paired together in an effort to thwart nuclear terrorists as they re-watch the movie: True Lies! We've got our favorite neglectful 90's dad - Arnold Schwarzenegger - as Harry Tasker, a man who his family thinks is a computer analyst, but really he's a terrorist-fighting secret agent! When he thinks his wife is having an affair (which she kind of is, but also we don't hate it), he uses government resources to spy on her, try to catch her in the act, and then make her to do a secret strip tease for her - all while continually lying to her! True Lies does not equal Swift Divorce, we'll tell you that right now. As if that couldn't be the whole movie, we also have international terrorists, kidnapping, nuclear weapons, explosions all around, every gun you could ever think of, and fighter jets exploding men in midair. It's absolutely ridiculous but we just can't look away!
