It also touches on Pride Month here in the U.S. When a lesbian couple on a vacation at a remote cabin get attacked by extremists bent on torture and murder, they must fight their way to freedom. We're back with the start of our summertime summer camp series. Each year during the Summer months we try to stick to slasher movies that take place in or around a summer camp, camping, the outdoors; you get the picture. This week we kick off our summer series with "Caesar & Otto's Summer amp Massacre." It's from 2009 and it's a whacky one. This is one movie in what looks like a series of "Caesar & Otto" movies. And while it's a cool idea to follow two main characters through different adventures, this one left your professors with some questions. We just weren't sure if this is our type of thing or what. Here we are again for another week of cheesy, campy, slasher mayhem. This week we watched "Phantom Fun-World" from 2023. The story centers around Andi, a new employee at an indoor fun park called Phantom Fun-World. The park is re-opening after a terrible tragedy happened 17 years ago and Andi has been hired as one of the staff. But a killer is stalking the place, dressed as the mascot "Phantom" and he doesn't take kindly to people trying to start the park up again. This one left us with a lot of questions. We've got one this week in honor of all the amazing Moms out there. From 1980 it's "Mother's Day." It's the story of three college best friends who call themselves the "Rat Pack." Each year since college, they've been going on a girls' trip together to reconnect and renew their unbreakable friendship. But this year, the three ladies get kidnapped by Ike and Addley who drag them off into the forest to torment them for the pleasure of their dear old Mom. It's not our usual "Slasher" movie but when it comes to honoring Mom, it's ok to stray from the usual formula.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Turns out there's a cheesy, campy slasher movie from 2013 called "Cinco de Mayo" and so we covered it! It's the story of El Maestro, or Mr. Valdez. He's a Mexican Studies teacher at the college. When El Maestro gets fired and mercilessly ridiculed by those around him, he snaps. He unleashes his "Aztec Bloodlust" and goes on a killing spree just in time for the holiday. Check it out and let us know what you think!

This week we jumped into another 80s style slasher classic with "Funeral Home." Alternate title "Cries in the Night" and we'll discuss all that today too. The story centers around Heather, who is visiting her grandmother to help get her Bed and Breakfast business off the ground. You see, Grandma and Grandpa used to run the community's funeral home. But when Grandpa disappeared, Grandma was forced to turn it into a B&B to make ends meet. While Heather is there to help, some of the guests start to go missing. But deputy sheriff Joe Yates is on the case, in some of the most competent police work we've ever seen in a cheesy slasher movie.

Happy Easter! In honor of the Easter Season we covered "Easter Bunny Massacre" from 2021. This one's a British slasher and we had so much fun picking it apart. Sorry for our terrible accents. It's the story of a group of friends who start out celebrating graduation, but end up trying to cover up a murder. The crime comes back to haunt them a year later in the form of someone dressed as a deranged Easter Bunny with a hammer and a bad attitude. Let us know what you think!
