Questions or Comments: Slip It In Here!

We're back from our rain-soaked weekend trip to Savannah where we experienced everything from turbulent flights to questionable rental house bugs. Despite the constant downpours, we made the most of our time with impromptu adventures, unusual food experiences, and unexpected discoveries around every corner.

    • Matty provides an update on his ongoing quest to attract hummingbirds to his yard with new lupine flowers
    • We survived a terrifying turbulent flight on a tiny 40-person plane with significant drops that even made confident flyers nervous
    • Discovered what locals call "palmetto bugs" (definitely cockroaches) in our rental house, all suspiciously on their backs
    • Experienced the "nacho gate" scandal where we were served cold, unmelted shredded cheese on tortilla chips
    • Found a charming "hobbit house" coffee shop that turned out to be allegedly owned by a religious group called the Twelve Disciples Tribe
    • Visited Abe's Bar on the corner of Lincoln and President streets where patrons draw Abraham Lincoln on cocktail napkins
    • Spotted an "Uncle Kathy" (a specific type of lesbian) in the wild who yelled at us from across the street
    • Our friend insisted on foxtrotting to every song at a gay bar, creating quite the "hullabaloo"
    • Attempted to steal fancy linen cocktail napkins from a hotel bar by stuffing them in purses
    • Tried freeze-dried candy from a TikTok-famous shop but were largely disappointed with the results
    • JJ recommends Harry's black lip balm with special Korean tech that adjusts to your skin's pH

  • Tadpole Tales and Malört Mayhem
    2025/05/08

Questions or Comments: Slip It In Here!

Buckle up for the messy, unfiltered ride that is the inaugural episode of Slip it In! Three best friends—Megan, Maddie, and JJ—invite you into their no-holds-barred conversations where absolutely nothing is off-limits.

What happens when childhood friends and a Spanish-born newcomer with an evolving American vocabulary come together to share their wildly different takes on life? Pure entertainment. From Megan and Maddie reminiscing about catching tadpoles in creeks as kids (a creature JJ had never heard of!) to debating the merits of different snacking styles, their chemistry is immediately apparent as they weave through topics with humor and honesty.

The trio recounts a hilarious mishap involving Malort—a notoriously bitter Chicago liquor described as "a dirty dish rag dipped in gas"—at a recent birthday party. Their attempt to discreetly dispose of the shots backfired spectacularly when JJ accidentally consumed it while trying to wash away the taste of his first small sip. The story perfectly captures their friendship dynamic: scheming together, laughing at mishaps, and turning ordinary moments into memorable stories.

They also tackle the latest news about Tiger King Joe Exotic's prison wedding, debate the legitimacy of prison tattoo artists, and provide an enthusiastic review of a viral Costco fan that's apparently worth tracking down for its perfect "natural breeze" setting. The episode wraps with their new recurring segment "Slip it Ins and Pull it Outs"—things they love versus things they hate—covering everything from Trader Joe's treats to construction disruptions to workout sweat.
