  • Episode 5: John Wiswell
    2024/10/09

Back again with another amazing storyteller, this week it’s Nebula and Locus award winning author, John Wiswell!

Today we discussed two of his stories: Five Answers to Questions You Probably Have (via Uncanny Magazine) and I’ll Miss Myself (via ReacTOR). We also touch on a third story I highly recommend called Open House on Haunted Hill (via Diabolical Plots) — I can’t sing enough praises for this heartwarming story about a haunted house in search of a family to love.

Be sure to check out John’s debut novel, Someone You Can Build a Nest In, which is available now.

For more information on John’s latest work and releases, you can visit his website, Substack and/or follow him on the socials: Instagram, X, Goodreads)

    2024/09/24

    Episode 4 is here!

This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Natalia Theodoridou, an award winning author with an impressive collection of short stories that I’ve enjoyed digging into after finding their story The Jukebox Man in Apex Magazine.

Visit Natalia’s website for a complete list of their publications including their interactive fiction and video games, and be sure to check out their debut novel Sour Cherry when it releases in April of 2025 and is available for pre-order now!

If there’s an author you’d like to hear from, or if you’re an author who’d like to chat, drop me an email at storyclubpod@gmail.com!

  • Episode 3: Travis Brown
    2024/09/17

Episode 3! Who knew we’d make it this far?

Today’s guest in the Storytellers Club is Travis Brown. Travis, who goes by the handle Grand_Theft_Motto on Reddit’s NoSleep, has built up an impressive following on the NoSleep subreddit, creating some of the site’s most read and most loved stories.

The story we discuss today is his award winning short, Something walks whistling past my house every night at 3:03, which was voted Scariest Story of the Year & Most Immersive Story of the Year in 2019 by members of the NoSleep community.

The story is featured in Travis’s collection House with 100 Doors from Velox Books, and will appear in the first season of Tales from the Void, a horror anthology releasing this October on Screambox. The episode, entitled Whistle in the Woods, drops on Sunday October 27th, just in time for Halloween!

You can follow Travis on Reddit to stay up to date on his latest work.
