Do you find yourself strangely addicted to true crime? Well, take comfort in the fact that Ande and Amethyst don’t think it’s strange at all!

As true crime enthusiasts and hosts of the new true crime podcast “Super SUS,” we can’t help but explore our mutual fascination with crime stories and the empowerment so many women find in them. But fear not, we will balance grim topics with lighthearted moments about our pets, our love for Oreos, and our aversion to mansplaining.

You’ll find that as busy moms, we have no choice but to embrace the challenge of podcast production and are eager to “learn as we go” while we share a few chuckles over our tech struggles and playroom set-up. And despite some folks suggesting that the true crime podcast genre is oversaturated, we emphatically disagree. Unfortunately, crime isn’t going anywhere, and we argue that sharing victims’ stories while simultaneously learning to empower ourselves is critical.

Our first case is a riveting two-parter that is set against the picturesque backdrop of Costa Mesa, California. Tune out the outside world as you learn about college students Julie Kibuishi and Sam Herr and the unconscionable acts that tragically impacted their young lives.

With a commitment to justice, Ande and Amethyst are here to provide our listeners with the resources needed to help reframe narratives in support of victims while staying informed. Who knows, our recounting of unsolved cases may even motivate you to put on your very own sleuthing cap. So whether you love to be shocked by sensational stories, keen to hear their conclusions, or simply eager to see if the scales of justice will ultimately prevail, hosts Ande and Amethyst are here for it.

Tune into our new podcast, "Super SUS,” as we begin our plunge into the murky pool of true crime, with our initial episodes purposefully timed to align with everyone’s favorite spooky season. 👻 We’re happy you’re here.
