  • Episode 31: They call me “Mr. Motivated”

    With GMAS coming around the corner the fellas step to the mic for a very motivated show today. Jeff, Nagi, and Antoine get the show started with a game of “Alphabet Aerobics” centered all around what to do this summer. Donny comes in just in the nick of time to end the warm up with a bang! After the announcements and a special shout out to all teachers for teacher’s appreciation week the fellas get the academic discussion going! This week the fellas discuss two essential questions…1.) Is what drove you to teaching the same thing that keeps you in teaching?...2.) Is there a difference between motivation and ambition? After the discussion wraps, Antoine opens up the teacher’s lounge and the good times roll! The data dig brings up some important information on who might be more responsible for sparking motivation in students.   • Episode 30: “After school tutoring with the 2% - Let’s revisit Teacher Isolation”

    With Spring Break 2023 in full swing, the fellas take it back to episode 18 before they hit the road for break. Jeff, Antoine, Nagi, and Donny get things started with a game of “Alphabet Aerobics” for the warm-up that is sure to have you hitting the vending machine early. After Donny gives us the announcements the 2% head straight into academic discussion. Today’s main question; Is teacher isolation just part of the job? The guys meet up with Antoine in the teacher’s lounge next to talk about what generation their students think they really are a part of, and then Nagi helps to break down the data showing the effects that teacher isolation is having on educators. Before the gang heads to the pep rally the SEL moment drops off a few words that many of us need to hear.

  • Episode 29: “They call me Mr. Clean Cut”

    With Spring Break right around the corner the fellas crank it up and kick it only like the 2% can! Donny, Antoine, and Jeff hold it down with Nagi away and get the show popping with the warm-up and an interesting game of “Scattergories”. Donny gives us the announcements and then the learning target for today’s show. Following that the crew gets the academic discussion started and begs to ask the question… “How important is image?” When the conversation wraps Antoine leads the crew in the teacher’s lounge confessions that will have you checking your motives when you make groups in class. Jeff takes over the data dig and the articles force the fellas to take a good look at if anything can really be done to change the public perception of black men. In this world that tells us that so many things are impossible the SEL moment for today reminds us that nothing really is impossible.

  • Episode 28: “ They call me Mr. Hip-Hop (part 2)”
    2023/03/23

    • The fellas are back with part 2 of their ode to hip-hop and its affects on education. So while Nagi is away at a Spartan event the microphone fiend himself Yoshi aka YUSEF IN THE BUILDING! steps in to help the fellas keep their heads ringing. The show starts with the warm-up and another test of hip-hop knowledge. Next, after the announcements the guys take time to salute Fannie Lou Hamer for her contributions Civil Rights and Woman’s History. Part 2 of the academic discussion on the influence of hip-hop in education has the fellas kicking the conversation sideways and straightways as they roc the mic right and let you know how they feel. After the dust settles and the conversation is done the crew heads over to the teacher’s lounge for a confession that has our guy Jeff feeling like public enemy #1! The data dig gives us the numbers around the Ja Morant story and whether or not hip-hop is to blame. The fellas step to the mic and regulate the academic discussion centered all around the influence of hip-hop music on education. These smooth operators then take it to the teacher’s lounge and confess to something you never thought could be done so smoothly.
