  • Bonus: Portrait of Terence as a Family Man
    2025/07/15

What is the cheapest and best way to end a live show? Playing Maniac 2000 of course and blowing the roof off the Bord Gáis, but that wasn't the only highlight of the show, and Terence brings in unwanted gifts to celebrate a great night.

There's a revelation about the saying "as blind as a bat", confusion over the difference between a common household safety pins and the pin in a grenade and Calvin cringes at the thoughts of overhearing a break up.

The discussion quickly goes down the gutter, or the toilet basin to be more accurate, as Terence takes it on himself to fact check who invented toilet paper and the flusher.

  • Episode 225 w/ Micky Bartlett and Willie Thompson
    2025/07/10

This week was a chaotic one and we blame Shane Todd for telling us to have Micky Bartlett and Willie Thompson on together. The boys sat down and took off running with debates about gills vs. wings, an explanation of the 12th of July for dummies and Adam Sandler impressions.

Willie and Micky are part of a thriving comedy scene in the North and told us how attitudes towards Northern Irish and working class comedians are changing and what it's like to be a part of that progress.

The lads don't worry about offending people and didn't hold back on the slaggings they gave each other or the jokes they made and they had us in stitches from the start.

  • Bonus: Everyday Terror
    2025/07/08

The small parts of everyday life are occupying our minds, from how to do a wash, to how to make the perfect slice of toast and even the ever present fear that lives unseen inside us.

Calvin argues for the advantages to defending your home from intruders while in the nip, to how the instinct for a shortcut is in the DNA.

He's also (possibly) caught faking a speed walk across town, and we hear the case for being allowed to scream (in a friendly way) at dogs.

  • Episode 224 w/ Una Ennis
    2025/07/03

When Una Ennis' 7 year old son Archie was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that causes his muscles to weaken, her plea for help was shared all across social media. She told us how she first began to notice that Archie was struggling with basic things like jumping and climbing the stairs and how their family has coped since receiving the news of his diagnosis.

Incredibly, Una and all of Archie's Army have now raised over 1 million euro for advanced treatments that can help to extend his life expectancy and keep him mobile - But they're still a long way from the €3.5 million they need.

If you can, please consider helping Una by donating here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/4s5t9y-please-help-our-boy

  • Bonus: Rats from the Flats
    2025/07/01

We begin with controversy and farce over late trains, leading to accusations of international sabotage.

Terry argues Calvin can’t take a slagging and it almost goes completely out of hand as we have accusations of being a rat firing around the studio.

We hear all about the Talking Bollox day out at an awards ceremony, from Terry arriving late due to a wardrobe malfunction of his own making, and him getting a fire exit confused with the jacks.

Calvin has taken two holidays in everyone’s book except his own, and it seems a few days in Spain no longer makes the cut as a holiday for podcasting’s most travelled man.

We wonder what’s no longer acceptable over the age of 40, from tracksuits to avoiding crusts of bread, to saying yup.

And we hear about the endless possibilities of being an identical twin and having a body double on hand to make life easier.

  • Episode 223 w/ Doireann Garrihy
    2025/06/26

Doireann Garrihy was our guest this week and took us back to the start from her dad's flirting tactics that helped win over her mam, to her famous godfather. She also told us about her time studying drama, blowing up on Snapchat and more recently, her decision to walk away from a successful breakfast radio show on RTÉ.

In between bleeps, Doireann told us who her favourite podcast guest was and how she found out she offended someone with an impression online.

She also did her best to teach Terence to pronounce her name and reacted to the landmark case against Tattle Life.

Don’t forget to pick up the last few tickets for our live show at the Bord Gais on July 11th! https://www.ticketmaster.ie/talking-bollox-live-tickets/artist/5381757

  • Bonus TBX: The Quizmaster Strikes Back
    2025/06/25

We’re bringing you a very special extra episode this week, and giving you a peek behind the curtain at what goes on over on TBX. For the very first time, and just this once, we are bringing a TBX episode to everyone for free.

Last month we ran a couple of quizzes on TBX, this episode was the second and the most chaotic. Things got out of hand and the quizmaster (Terry) lost control. What followed was some of the most ridiculous, chaotic and competitive moments we’ve had in the studio.

This is an episode TBX listeners loved and we’ve decided to share it with everyone, partly because Terry wants the world to agree he’s the premier quizmaster of his generation, and partly because Calvin wants to gain support for his claims he was robbed.

For more of this (plus full video of the main episodes, and a lot more) you can sing up to TBX for just €4 a month. Go to GoLoudPlayer.com/thegaff for more info.

  • Bonus: Eat, Pray, Fear
    2025/06/24

Would it be better to be feared or loved? Does it matter if you’re a podcast host at a live show, a football manager or a maniacal dictator?

In a bout of curious historical trivia we get a brief chat about OJ Simpson and some fascinating and farcical insights into a little known element of 9/11.

There’s questions about starting a business, pissing every minute of the day and a heated debate over what counts as a sauce.

There are bad ideas about delivering ice creams and an unanswered question about the existence of one of Ireland’s most beloved ones.
