このコンテンツについて
You’re in a minority if neither you or nor your clients have never suffered from Impostor Syndrome. Lots has been written about it, very little on how to change that. This podcast changes that.
Paul Grantham, Consultant Clinical Psychologist takes you through his journey of successfully working with hundreds of Impostor Syndrome clients.
From identifying its characteristics to addressing it with a combination of Motivational Interviewing, CBT and ACT.
Before you can even begin to address your Impostor Syndrome, there are key preparatory steps you need to take.
Firstly, you obviously need identify your beliefs attached to it - such as “I don’t deserve….” or “I’m going to be discovered I’m a fraud”.
Secondly, identify your ATTITUDE towards Impostor Syndrome. This is often a missed step in treatment but has big motivational implications. If you associate Impostor Syndrome with humility you won’t give it up.
Thirdly , there are a range of evidence based approaches that powerfully challenge and modify the beliefs of Impostor Syndrome -from Pie Charts to Cognitive Defusion techniques. Use them.
Fourthly, tips on how to practice strategies and embed them into your lifestyle is also crucial. Being told how to change is one thing. Actually being able to do it is another.
Listen to the podcast now, implement the ideas and tell us what you think
