    2024/08/01

Join the guys as we wrap up Season 2, and what a journey it's been!

The guys reflect on things that have happened over the few months of recording this season. One of those things being a live podcast.

Hear how that almost came to be, and how the guys sitting down at the bar and talking about their respective ideas and feelings about what it should/could be allowed them to appreciate their friendship even more, given how sideways that could've went.

Jon opens up about the fears he has over his upcoming foot surgery, his phobia of compound fractures and feet/hand things, which lead the guys to discussing some of their own fears.

We thank you SO MUCH for checking out this latest season of the podcast, and hope you join us for a different journey through Season 3.

  • All My Children
    2024/08/01

Chris opens things up with a question to Rush and Jon about why we all chose not to have children, which led to an instantly funny moment, as that wasn't 100% the case.

Chris shares a sort of amusing, but scary story that led to him getting a vasectomy, while Rush opens up more about some of the struggles of being an older man who hasn't been married, who wants kids, but maybe at a point in his life where it's maybe not the responsible thing to do, and how that's been for him to navigate.

The guys also discuss how interesting it is to see how a kids mind works as they get older, including some funny anecdotes from their individual experiences with children.

Chris and Rush talk about navigating the dating pool being 40 somethings where a lot of people are typically divorced and/or with kids, and Jon shares some stories seeing friends traversing the same scene as women and more in this episode of The B.A.R.

  • Catch Up
    2024/08/01

We hadn't recorded for a few weeks while life happened, so this is us catching up with each other.

The guys talked about what had been happening since the last episode, and discuss what it was like growing up as young adults and having to miss out on things, (concerts/entertainment/friends) due to technology as we know it not being as readily available to us since you may not be able to afford cable or internet or cell phones and such when those were luxuries (we're old ok).

Rush shares a story about going on a trip to see his family and a surprise that his dad gave him, which led to a funny joke Jon had sent him a few days prior and more in this episode of The B.A.R.

  • Death Blooms
    2024/08/01

The guys get a bit reflective about life and death as they learn that Ryan Hadley, a tattooer, was losing his battle with cancer.

We talk about Ryan and his time on the Ink Master tv show, and how we all view that as a platform to dissect someone's talent as a professional tattooer, with Chris giving more insight into how unfair that show is.

Hear the guys discuss how they would navigate their lives knowing they were going to die, and what they would want their lasting legacies to be.

Jon recalls a guest on his other podcast that approached life never assuming they were going to live to various ages, and how that may have allowed them to really squeeze more out of life than someone who expected to live a longer life, and much more as we discuss our ideas on what it means to be alive.

This episode is dedicated to the memories of Ryan Hadley and Joshua Carlton. Rest In Peace.

  • Relationships
    2024/08/01

The guys get together in a bit of uncertainty as Jon talks about how he had hit a bit of mental and emotional wall the day prior that may have caused the show to not happen as originally intended.

This led to us discussing relationships, of various kinds, with Rush opening up about how he has realized some of his fears and insecurities from past traumas in his dating life.

Rush and Chris share stories of Jon being there for them when romantic relationships didn't quite work out, and how that time period is weird when friends will reveal how they really felt about your significant other.

We talk about how we can miss out on opportunities in our lives if we put to many restrictions on what we THINK we want versus letting things happen naturally and more in this episode of The B.A.R.

  • Religulous
    2024/08/01

This one goes all over the place, from discussing Jon's recent trip to Atlanta with his wife. Hear some of their favorite spots to eat and what it is about Atlanta that keeps them going back year after year.

From here the conversation steers towards religion. Hear how Rush ended up changing denominations in his journey through his faith, and ultimately what led him to where he is currently.

Jon opens up about his struggles with organized religion and how a lot of it stems from his relationship with his parents, who are newer in their faith, and how that's been a bit of a dividing factor between them and more in this super personal look into our spiritual journeys.

  • Roadhouse
    2024/08/01

We're getting a little rowdy for this one!

The guys get into some stories about fights, whether it's bar fights during Rush or Jon's time working in the industry, to being an observer of people getting into a tussle in close proximity to us.

We try and figure out if the newer bar going generation is more calming or if our era was just more violent. We also try and figure out if the hardcore/metal scenes of now and then are equally going through that same change or not?

So strap in, and try not to catch a roundhouse kick to the face.
