  • FPL Bridge Brothers: The Premier League Returns
    2025/08/13

Matt and Nick reconvene to discuss their teams ahead of game week one in the Premier League.

From goal-keepers to their forward lines, the lads go through their squads as their FPL rivalry resumes. Will Matt regret selecting Martin Dúbravka? Will Lewis-Skelley come good for Nick and does Granit Xhaka look like Super-Man? Give us a listen to find out more.

One slight correction is that Matt did mention that Joachim Andersen previously played for Brentford, whereas it was, of course, Crystal Palace.

Remember, the upcoming deadline is this Friday the 15th of August at 18:30.

  • The Bridge Brothers Podcast: Can You Support More Than One Club?
    2025/08/13

The Bridge Brothers begin this episode by discussing the fall-out from Crystal Palace's unsuccessful appeal to be reinstated into the UEFA Europa League. Needless to say, as a Croydon resident, Nick isn't happy with the outcome.

Discussions of local sides and the question of multi-club ownership also prompts the lads to discuss the question: "can you support more than one football club?" This is a quandary that was inspired by Matt and Nick's affection for AFC Wimbledon, AFC Croydon and Tooting and Mitcham.

The lads also swing by a few tangents including Matt's efforts to be a UN Ambassador through the medium of football kits, their newfound Millwall fans following and the iconic Blackburn Rovers title winning team.

One note of correction is that the brothers state that Nick and Dad will be visiting the Mayfield Stadium to see AFC Croydon VS Merstham however, in the end, the game was held Merstham's Hybrid Stadium.

  • FPL Bridge Brothers: Selection Headaches
    2025/08/07

In the first episode of FPL Bridge Brothers, the lads talk through their early efforts at assembling their squads with Matt going for the big names and Nick taking a, slightly more nuanced approach.

Some of Matt's inspiration comes from the 59th Minute Pod as well as FPL Denis, whereas Nick is putting his together based on his efforts to follow the pre-season friendlies.

The ending gets a bit lively as Nick responds to one of our listeners comments, but we still encourage you all to engage with us as we begin another FPL campaign.

  • The Bridge Brothers Podcast: Pre-season Friendly
    2025/08/07

Matt and Nick cover a range of subjects in this first episode of The Bridge Brothers Podcast.

The lads begin with more discussion about the Lionesses Euro 2025 success with Chelsea's Hannah Hampton and Arsenal's Chloe Kelly being lined up for recognition in the New Years' Honours list.

They then turn to AFC Croydon's progress in the FA Cup and talk about the prospects of the Rams defeating their next opponent, the mighty Tooting and Mitcham. This promises to be a hotly contested South London derby as the boys from the Crem take on the Terrors!

Conversation them turns to West London where the brothers talk about the Chelsea men's team's transfer window and the pod reaches it's conclusion as they go from the Blue's billions to the financial travails of Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

  • Ringing the Changes
    2025/08/02

We're going through changes at FPL Pod VS Tok. Not only do Matt and Nick have a run at the new rules in Fantasy Premier League ahead of the 25/26 season, but they also inform the listeners of significant alterations that will be happening to this very pod.

Before all that though, the lads talk about their trip to see AFC Wimbledon take on Millwall and, more importantly, the doff their caps to Sarina Wingman's Lionesses who just won back to back European Championships!

After doing their best to make sense of the new FPL rules, (including the amendments to the bonus points system for goalkeepers), Matt and Nick make the announcement that this will be the last episode of FPL Pod VS Tok.

But do not worry in that we will be back very soon with our new shows "The Bridge Brothers' Podcast' and "Bridge Brothers FPL." Keep an eye on our socials for more info.

Thanks again to Sea of Days for his amazing music and thank you too listeners for all your support! We look forward to sharing our new podcasts with you soon!

Keep it fun and keep it, F.P.L!

  • Matt and Nick Talk Transfers
    2025/07/19

The brothers begin this 40th edition of FPL Pod VS Tok with some general football discussion which takes in England's demolition of Wales in the Women's Euro, (helped by the Chelsea legends in Hannah Hampton and Lucy Bronze), Chelsea's World Club Cup victory against the previously dominant Paris Saint Germain and the fall out from Crystal Palace's demotion from the UEFA Europa League to the Conference. A warning to any Forest fans, Nick takes no prisoners in talking about the East Midlands' club role in this particular saga! To be fair, Robbie Williams gets a bit of a pasting as well in our chat about the Club World Cup.

We then move, finally, to all things FPL where Matt and Nick talk about some key transfers who could make their respective teams much more formidable in the season ahead. Notable mentions include Florian Wirtz, Noni Madueke, Djordje Perisic and a host of players signed by the newly crowned Champions of the World, Chelsea.

You can join the conversation through the following means...

Thank you listeners and we close the show by paying tribute to one of the Homer family cats, Igor. As Nick says in the show, Iggy was more of a regular at AFC Croydon's Mayfield Stadium than we were and we will miss his love and mischief going forward.

Thank you too Shane, aka Sea of Days, for your beautiful music and we feature extended editions of Darkness and Where Do I Begin?

Matt and Nick finish talking about upcoming changes to the pod but, in the meantime, keep it fun and keep it F.P.L!

  • Should We Care About the Club World Cup?
    2025/07/02

With the Premier League on it's annual summer break, Matt and Nick ask the question "should we care about the Club World Cup?"

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the lads air their concerns about player welfare, how the tournament is funded and whether it is a tournament that football fans actually want.

This conversation was inspired by one of Matt's exchanges on Instagram so, listeners, you can contact us via the links below if you would like to join the debate.

There are also clips from AFC Croydon's game against Lancing FC at the end of last season, fantastic music from Sea of Days and the brothers also talk about a number of changes that may be happening to the pod ahead of the 25/26 season.

As always, keep it fun and keep it F.P.L and we'll see you again soon!
